Another night with superstars dropping the gloves. Last night’s participants were Ilya Kovalchuk and Mike Green.

Neither player is that experienced in the fight department, but just like the other star fights recently, both were very willing. The fight was more squaring off and shadow boxing than punching, but set off a chain of fights at the end of the Devils–Caps game.

David Clarkson was involved in a pair of fights before and after the stars went at it. He decisively took down Jason Chimera early in the third. Matt Bradley then returned the favor for his teammate during the string of fights with a few minutes left in the game.

Nice to see you again

The Sens and Leafs renewed their rivalry on the first regular season installment of Hockey Night in Canada this season.

Colton Orr and Matt Carkner renewed their own rivalry halfway through the third. The two fought four times last season. Orr took the series 3-1, and according to voters, he took last night’s bout, too.
