Sharks Top Avs as Clowe & Winnik Battle

The Sharks and Avalanche put up goals and fights last night, in an entertaining back and forth game.

Brad Winchester and Cody McLeod fought only 2:09 into the game in a fair exchange. Just 21 seconds later Ryane Clowe scored to give the Sharks the lead. Colorado would take it back twice before San Jose made a third period comeback and a 5-4 win.

Clowe dropped the gloves as well, having a lengthy exchange with Daniel Winnik mid-way through the second. Winnik had an assist on Paul Stastny's goal earlier in that period and scored later on, completing a Gordie Howe Hat Trick within the 20-minute frame.

Old school powerforward

Milan Lucic had a good fight against heavyweight Matt Carkner Wednesday night. In a move out of Wendel Clark's playbook he took on one of the league's toughest men and handled him well. Lucic currently has 10 goals and 13 assists through 30 games.
