Ramp Down Weekend

Friday night started off with a bang, and things slowed down as Sunday night approached.

Some highlights from the past weekend:

– The Ducks and Flames played Friday night and the gloves hit the ice on two occasions.  It was the fourth and final game between the two teams.  There were two fights in each of the four games.
– Dion Phaneuf and Todd Bertuzzi went at it just five minutes into that game.  Props to Phaneuf for taking the lid off, and then Bertuzzi for following suit.  Bertuzzi’s fight strap wasn’t tied down and he was ejected from the game.
– Rick Rypien had a solid performance against Norway’s Ole-Kristian Tollefsen.
– Jody Shelley found a familiar foe in DJ King.  The two went back and forth in an even bout.
– Yesterday started off with a bang.  After six goals in the first, Jesse Boulerice and Colton Orr gave MSG another reason to stand up when they exchanged some heavy blows early in the second period.
