Mark Fistric’s Hit on Nino Niederreiter

Mark Fistric lined up Nino Niederreiter quickly, and delivered a hard hit, right to Niederreiter's head. To the Islanders' credit, Matt Martin immediately grabbed Fistric, but the linesmen weren't having any of that. They were directly over Niederreiter at first, but could have been let go after Niederreiter moved out of the way.

Niederreiter got up, almost appeared ok for a moment, but was helped off by Marty Reasoner and Steve Staios, along with a trainer from the Islanders.

No hit-related penalty was called on Fistric. Martin received a double roughing, Fistric a single roughing, and the Stars went on the power play.
