Hordi and Parros Light Up Halloween
Halloween leads to too many awful titles around the web, like Hordiween. We were able to resist.
There were only two games on the one day of the year I wish Clinton Portis played hockey. The Blackhawks put away the stars in the earlier game, and the Canucks beat the Ducks late. Extra late, thanks to 13 rounds in a shootout until Mattias Ohlund ended it.
Darcy Hordichuk and George Parros dropped the gloves and had a quick, but spirited bout. It looked like Mike Brown and Ryan Carter were going to make it a two-fer, but that one never really took off and both ended up with roughing penalties.
Saint… Me?
Over on AOL’s NHL Fanhouse, Eric McErlain gives me, and this site, lots of accolades. We accept them all, and will try and design some nice cards for St. Fisticuffs Day.
Dorsett’s Introduction
Eric spreads some more hockey love over at The Sporting News. He looks at Derek Dorsett‘s jump into the NHL and how active he’s been.
Dorsett, who was taken 189th overall by the Blue Jackets in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, is described by Hockey’s Future as a “Matthew Barnaby-type,” and it’s easy to see why. He piled up 593 PIMs in three seasons in juniors with the Medicine Hat Tigers.
Barren Broadcasts
There’s a strong lineup of games on Saturday, but out of the twelve games, three aren’t televised. No word if they’re available online.
