Good Sunday
Sunday’s usually a light day, especially with all the day games (they just seem to have fewer fights), but I guess I wasn’t the only one irritated about the clocks changing early (what? that’s not what they were fighting about?).
I know Darryl Bootland in the lineup changes things for the Wings, but it’s still a shocker when I see an FM in the boxscore for any Detroit games nowadays. He went with Jeremy Reich who picked up FMs in back-to-back days.
Jeff Cowan didn’t score last night, a change of pace from the last couple of weeks it seems, but he did drop the gloves twice.
After a seven game “fight drought”, the Ducks seemed to have regained their early-season form with five majors in their past four games. They’re also winners of five straight (one shootout win, count it as you like). Again, Early season form.
It was good to hear Brent Severyn doing color for the Ducks last night, you could tell he enjoyed the way the game started. Brent is the Ducks regular radio color analyst.
The Kings and Stars had a pair of fights in the second period of yesterday’s game. The series has been pretty physical. Both teams have 32 majors on the year. With six in the series, that’s a good chunk of their overall majors. There’s one more Kings-Stars game to be played on March 21st.
