Godard, Boll Highlight Pens-Jackets

Eric Godard participated in his first scrap following surgery to repair his orbital bone, dropping the gloves with Jared Boll during Jackets–Pens on Tuesday.

It was a bout that had to happen. In the middle of the second period, Boll leveled Godard with a solid, clean hit. Godard went after Boll, giving him a slash and looking for a fight but Boll held off and Columbus ended up scoring at the other end of the ice.

Godard went after Boll again late in the third, knocking him down with a glove to the face. Boll stood up and the two danced with Godard winning as expected and Boll hanging tough as always.

Also in the game, Derek Dorsett earned a one-sided win over Ben Lovejoy in the first. Later in the period, Matt Cooke wrestled Derick Brassard to the ice after Brassard confronted Cooke about a hit on Fedor Tyutin moments earlier.
