Gillies Hits Stride While Boulton Gets Tricky

Trevor Gillies continues to solidfy himself as one of the better heavyweights at the NHL level. Gillies got the better of Paul Bissonnette during a long, busy scrap in Saturday's YotesIsles matchup. For those keeping track, that gives the long-time AHL'er solid performances against D.J. King, Shawn Thornton and now "Biz Nasty". Not too shabby.

Other notable bouts from last night included Dan Carcillo's first fight since returning from injury against Dale Weise, who was also participating in his first NHL scrap and game as well as a fun middleweight scrap between Matt Bradley and Adam McQuaid. Three bouts emanated from SharksBlues, too.

Boulton nets three

Eric Boulton earned his first career hat trick in a big win for the Thrashers over the Devils. Boulton scored a goal in the first and then two in the second. His last was unassisted. Video of his goals can be seen after the jump.
