Game Ones Complete

The first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs is underway and all first games are in the books.

If I would have had to pick where I thought we'd see some fistic action, I would have predicted Boston–Montreal, with Phoenix–Detroit at the bottom of the list.  But this is the playoffs, and as hard-fought as every game is, you never know where and when the gloves will drop.

That being said, the fight between Rostislav Klesla and Todd Bertuzzi isn't going to be making any post-season highlight reels.  It didn't matter to the crowd.  They were electrified, and Detroit scored a little over a minute later.

The only other fight so far came from the LA–San Jose game last night.  Jarret Stoll hit Ian White hard into the boards.  White left with some help and did not return.  Off of the ensuing faceoff, Ben Eager and Kyle Clifford had a wild fight with Eager landing a couple of heavy shots.
