Claude Lemieux Keeps His Style

Three games had two fights each last night. The most notable bout involved Claude Lemieux, who “fought” for the first time in over six years when he dropped the gloves and absorbed some shots from Theo Peckham during a scrum in the second period of Oilers–Sharks. The last time Claude was seen fighting, at least at the NHL level, was in a preseason scrap against Jarkko Ruutu back in 2002.

Zack Stortini took over the league-lead in fighting majors when he tangled with Alexei Semenov later in the game.

Adam Mair exchanged blows with Jamal Mayers early on in Sabres–Leafs. They were followed by Jaime Sifers and Patrick Kaleta, who had a short fight of their own. In the middle of the Blachawks come-from-behind win over the Lightning, Adam Burish engaged in a spirited scrap with Adam Hall, and Steve Downie took on Dustin Byfuglien after the two collided at center ice.
