Oct 08, 2001 2pd 05:39 Brendan Witt @BOS Sean O'Donnell
Comments: The Bruins just scored and Witt checks O'Donnell and turns to get O'Donnell to fight to fire up his team. O'Donnell quickly obliges and starts throwing rights as Witt tries to counter with lefts. O'Donnell lands 2, maybe even 3 hard shots, looks like Witt lands almost nothing. He might have gotten one shot in that connected, but it was at the same moment he caught one. Witt went right to the dressing room to get fixed up after one of O'Donnell's rights opened a cut (not too much blood).

Oct 08, 2001 2pd 14:10 Jeff Halpern @BOS Kyle McLaren
Comments: McLaren nails Calle Johansson (hit him right into the Blue Cross Blue Shield symbol on the boards for a bit of irony). Halpern goes right after him and drops his gloves. They each grab jerseys and Halpern throws one punch that can't get to McLaren's face. Linesmen step in immediately since they're pressed up against the boards. Fighting majors were myteriously called here.

Oct 08, 2001 3pd 20:00 Stephen Peat @BOS P.J. Stock
Comments: At the end of a shutout, for the home fans, the Bruins-Caps add a fifth fight to the game. At the whistle Stock and Peat push and shove and drop the gloves. Good toe-to-toe action in this one. Peat throws a couple and it looks like he might dominate but Stock then throws about 5 or 6 rights of his own. Peat threw a couple more before the two got pinned near the boards. Linesmen come in, game over. Peat skated away with a bloody nose.
Voted winner: P.J. Stock (53.8%) - Voted rating: 7.7

Oct 20, 2001 2pd 02:26 Stephen Peat @PHI Todd Fedoruk
Comments: With play moving up ice, these two drop them at the center ice logo. The Fridge gets going first, connecting on 3 good rights. He then switches to the left with no success and goes back to the right. Both then throw wild air punches while spinning like a merry go round. Peat then gains the upper hand and throws 3, landing on 2 and possibly on the third. Fedoruk then recovers to get off 3 of his own, landing 2 of them. Peat attepts 2 more before the two quit from exhaustion (Fedoruk tapped Peat on the waist and they both let go).

Comments: Chara hits Simon at center ice, Simon didn't like it much and they drop the gloves. Simon flipped his glove into Chara's face and followed that with a stiff left. Chara then throws a couple shots, none landing too significantly. A few more thrown by each, no damage inflicted by either. Simon then with the takedown.

Nov 15, 2001 1pd 04:56 Stephen Peat @PHI Chris McAllister
Comments: It started off a faceoff as they were lined up with one another. Right when the puck was dropped, they drop their gloves. The linesmen tried to break it up at first, but the two started throwing. McAllister was throwing major league rights, and when Peat turned him around, McAllister landed a big time left that cut Peat open pretty good.

Comments: Big check thrown on Theo Fleury, Fleury sucker punches Brendan Witt (who threw the check). Brawl erupts. Malakhov takes Sacco and starts throwing. Sacco's bent over and Malakhov throws about 5 or 6 rights. Other Penalties: Theo Fleury received a double roughing minor; Malakhov an instigator and misconduct.

Nov 23, 2001 3pd 15:24 Trent Whitfield NYR Eric Lindros
Comments: While the Malakhov-Sacco fight is going on, Lindros and Whitfield are paired off. Whitfield buries his head while Lindros starts throwing. Looked like that fight all over again. Kolzing came and pulled Lindros off. Blackburn came over, but nothing else happened. Other Penalties: Both players received game misconducts; Olaf Kolzig and Dan Blackburn both received leaving the crease penalties.

Nov 23, 2001 3pd 20:00 Matt Pettinger NYR David Karpa
Comments: Pettinger finished a check on Karpa with 3 seconds left. Karpa went after Pettinger and soon everybody on the ice was there. Mccarthy turned around and grabbed Klee (Simon was on the ice). Pettinger started beating down Karpa. McCarthy started toward center ice but was met by Kolzig who took a swing at McCarthy, but it did not look like it landed. Other Penalties: Sandy McCarthy received a roughing and game misconduct; Pettinger a roughing and misconduct; Karpa a roughing, cross checking, instigator and misconduct.

Dec 04, 2001 1pd 17:21 Stephen Peat NYR Steve McKenna
Comments: Peat starts with a right that glances off of McKenna's helmet. McKenna's head is down which leaves him at a disadvantage as Peat buckles him with a right uppercut to the face. McKenna rises and gets another right to the face, and again another right to the face. Peat then delivers with yet another right to the face. A right glances off McKenna's back and Peat follows with another right which doesn't seem to land. McKenna finally get a right punch in which gets nothing but Peat's shoulder. McKenna misses and so does Peat. McKenna misses two more rights. Peat goes to the left and glances one off of McKenna's helmet. McKenna misses a haymaker and down they go.

Dec 19, 2001 3pd 12:12 Stephen Peat @FLA Peter Worrell
Comments: The two square off after the Simon goal. Peat drops 'em first as they dance and ready themselves. Worrell then "hands" Peat his stick, which allows him to safely drop his gloves. Worrell grabs at Peat's jersey first which allows Peat to get the first shot off. As they struggle a bit, Peat gets off 5 more, landing 3 (but nothing big). They both struggle to get an arm free to get the advantage. Worrell has his arm out of his jersey sleeve, but can't shake the elbow pad off. As Worrell gets his arm free, he gets off 4 shots, landing 2. Peat counters with 3 more, landing 1. They both struggle more to punch, but neither can land anything. As they come together, they both land shots to the back of the head. The two big men tire and embrace with a loving hug as the linesman seperate them.

Dec 21, 2001 1pd 02:22 Stephen Peat @PIT Krzysztof Oliwa
Comments: They drop the gloves, shadow for a moment, and then come together with Oliwa getting the better position. He threw five punches with the first being a half uppercut, half straight right to the chin and 2 more off either the helmet or a off the forehead. Peat finally fought off the onslaught and they threw back-and-forth with Peat switching from his right to the left and stuns Oliwa with a solid shot to the face dropping Oliwa and Oliwa gets up, falls again. Peat then lands another decent punch and they get tangled up and they both fall over.

Dec 21, 2001 1pd 19:45 Chris Simon @PIT Dan LaCouture
Comments: Simon gives LaCouture a bump after the whistle blows and says something to LaCouture. You could read LaCouture's lips saying "fuck you" and LaCouture drops his gloves immediately and they go. LaCouture hits 3 or 4 quick shots. Simon then gets one shot in and they hold on and fall down. LaCouture was firing speedy punches, but little strength on them.

Comments: Peat smacks Brash in the back of the head. Then Peat whacks his stick out of his hands. Brash looks for a penalty, gets none and they go. Peat gets swinging first, throwing 5 shots all to the back of Brashear. Brash then shakes him and follows up with a left solid to the right temple of Peat and down goes Peat! Brashear lands one more while Peat is down.

Jan 03, 2002 1pd 02:02 Stephen Peat @OTT Chris Neil
Comments: After a whistle, these two go deep in the Ottawa defensive zone, only about 2 minutes in. Both are raining punches at all cylinders during this very long fight. At the beginning of the fight, Neil held the upperhand. He landed many punches to the back of Peat's head. Peat is trying to avoid them and get a good grip on Neil. About 20 seconds later, both guys get their hands free and they really start letting them fly. Both guys throwing at least 15 punches, landing more than half. That went on for about 30 seconds. Peat then threw 3 massive bombs to the face of Neil, with all 3 landing. 2 landed directly on the mouth of Neil, it appeared he was bloodied a little. After that flurry of punches, they hold each other against the boards for a few seconds and the linesmen come in.

Jan 05, 2002 2pd 12:21 Stephen Peat @BOS P.J. Stock
Comments: They shove each other, waiting for the play to go further up ice before dropping the gloves and grabbing ahold of each other. Peat lands a right cross with Stock returning fire in the form of a right jab. Stock switches hands and the two go toe-to-toe with rapid fire punches: Stock with the left; Peat with the right. Stock continues to throw quick lefts while Peat stops throwing and ducks his head down. Both fighters switch hands and start going toe-to-toe with punches once again, each landing numerous shots. Peat throws two rights to the back of Stock's head followed by seven straight lefts while Stock answers the favor by throwing three more quick rights. The two exchange punches inside just before they start going toe-to-toe once more. The two tire out soon after, allowing the linesman to skate in and separate the two. Stock waves to the crowd, which gives both fighters a standing ovation.

Comments: It started in the right circle in front of Richter. Peat gets in a shot early, then the two clutch and grab some. Peat gets free first, and lets a flurry of lefts that hit nothing but the back of Dale's jersey. Purinton also throws a few that don't connect. They grab a little more, then Peat throws a few more lefts with 2 landing. Purinton gets one in himself as they tire.

Jan 30, 2002 2pd 05:47 Chris Simon STL Bryce Salvador
Comments: Simon bumps the St Louis goalie, which looked inadvertant, and Salvador does the right thing by coming in to challenge Simon. The gloves kinda come off and both guys grab on. Salvador must be new to this because he still has his right glove on. Off it goes. Well, Bryce sneeks a short right in and it lands to Simon's face. Impressive. Simon wants to return a left, but it's tied up. As he switches to the right Salvador feeds him another right. Simon then pushes his fist up Salvador's face bending him sideways. There is some pulling and tugging then both guys get off balance and fall down. Although Simon's face never faced the camera he did wipe blood from his face on the way to the box. Other Penalties: Simon received a goaltender interference.

Jan 30, 2002 3pd 13:04 Chris Simon STL Bryce Salvador
Comments: Simon clearly wants another go as he drills Salvador into the boards and drops the gloves immediately. Simon goes for the grab and fires a left which misses, but Salvador goes on the defensive and lowers his head. Simon lands a heavy left as Bryce straightens up which buckles his knees. That one hurt. Simon is mad. Salvador gets back up but his head is still down. He charges into Simon and tackles him. Both guys go down and this one is over.

Mar 10, 2002 2pd 13:57 Joe Sacco EDM Steve Staios
Comments: Scrum ensues along the boards after an offsides call. Grier and Konowalchuk are pushing and shoving and drop the gloves and grab each other, but too many people were in between these two (linesmen, teammates). Away from this scrum is Staios and Sacco and their gloves are off. Sacco throws a right, which doesn't connect. Staios is fighting to get his right free. A ref comes in and tells them something, and Staios seems to ask permission from the ref to continue the fight. The ref nods and they get back to fighting again. Staios gets his right arm out of his jersey, and throws a wild right, which misses. Sacco is trying to throw rights, but he is tied up pretty good. 2 more wild rights from Staios which miss. Staios then connects with a couple of right jabs, Sacco connects with 2 short left handed jabs immediately after Staios got his shots in. Staios tries another right haymaker which misses, and Staios goes down. He gets right up and Sacco loses his balance and goes down. They both skate to the box. Other Penalties: Konowalchuk and Grier both received roughings.

Comments: Forbes gives Salo a little hit, and Brewer takes exception. The gloves fly off and Forbes lands a couple of jabs to Brewer's face. Brewer follows that up with a couple of right jabs of his own. Brewer then throws a huge right that looked like it had a purpose, but didn't connect. This caused Brewer to lost his balance, and down he went. Other Penalties: Forbes received a goaltender interference; Brewer a roughing.
