Comments: Isbister nails Linden with a questionable hit. Jovanovski didn't like it and made a bee-line towards Isbister from the neutral zone, all the way down in the Oilers' zone. Isbister sees him coming and they both drop the gloves. It is apparent that all Isbister wanted to do was avoid getting hit in the face (he has something like 20 stitches in his mouth), as he was ducking away from Jovanovski's onslaught. A few straight rights, followed by an uppercut and another right by Jovanovski and the linesmen come in. Other Penalties: Isbister received a boarding; Jovanovski an instigator, misconduct and game misconduct.

Comments: Ruutu facewashes shelley and Ling comes in and and drops the the gloves. Ruutu drops his and they tie each other up. Ruutu throws a few little jabs that might connect, then they tie up again. Ruutu gets free again and is the only one throwing/landing anything. Other Penalties: Ruutu received a roughing.

Comments: At the end of the game, both crosscheck each other near the front of the Canucks net. Gratton finally drops his gloves and the linesmen immediately jump in. Ohlund took off his right glove and landed a short right while the linesmen hold onto Gratton. The punched landed and cut Gratton pretty good over his eye. Gratton is yelling and trying to punch over the linesmen. Other Penalties: Gratton received a double cross checking; Ohlund a cross checking.

Comments: After the Nucks score, these two line up next to each other. As the puck drops so do their gloves and they have a nice long squareoff. They both grab on and May throws a quick right that lands on the cheek slightly. They jostle for position and are holding on. Low throws a short punch that barely hits May. Low then throws three more that do nothing and rips off May's helmet. May comes back with two shots that do no damage. They hold a little bit more, and as Low tries to get an arm free, May sneaks a light punch in. Low then gets May in a little headlock and throws about three shots, one of them landing decently. They hold for a little bit more and throw one a piece with May landing the better shot. They back up and each has a hold of each other with one of their arms. As they are at arm's length, they are spinning a little bit and Low tries two more that miss. May loses his balance and falls.

Comments: Brown and May had been yapping at each other in an earlier shift. Good, long squareoff at center ice and when they finally come together they each go to throw a right and Brown hits May with one across the chin and May stumbles to the ice.

Comments: They squareoff again. Brown gets them tied up, then they start to throw, both landing punches. Brown hits May and puts him to a knee, but May comes back and switches hands and hits him with a few, knocking Brown's helmet off. They both start throwing again until they grapple, tire out, and the linesmen come in.

Comments: Behind the play, after a hit, Ruutu and Zholtok get together. Ruutu drops his gloves and Sergei eventually follows. Rutuu gets in some early rights, then both players tie up. Ruutu throws a few right jabs, then Zholtok's back gets turned and Rutuu throws some lefts.

Comments: On a B's PP, Lapointe is parked in front of Cloutier. Cloutier slashes him and Lapointe returns, then Allen comes in and clears Lapointe out and gives him a face wash. Lapointe shoves back and they go, the ref gets in the way of the camera at the beginning. Lapointe is in close and eats a couple of rights to the side of the head. Lapointe attempts a couple, but comes up short and eats another two rights to the side of the head. Lapointe then tries getting underneath and lifting Allen up to no avail and Allen gets him down and could have nailed him, but held back.

Comments: They're pretty tight to the boards when they drop the gloves. Allen goes to throw a punch that Domi ducks under, and then almost dumps Allen immediately, but Allen gets his balance. They're in a hug and grappling. Allen gets Domi's helmet off and throws about four non-damaging punches to Domi's head. They get off the boards and do a quick spin and fall while Domi throws a couple.

Comments: Nice squareoff. They come together and May lands a very nice left flush to the face. They come together again and jockey for position, but nothing doing. They are in tight, May sneaks in a left and then they lock each other out the rest of the way. Perrott was dripping blood a bit and went off for repairs.

Comments: Ruutuu apparently instigates this get together, and immediately grabs on. Both guys go with lefts at first, and Ruutuu ties up again. Dimaio gets the right loose and lands a couple of good shots. Good uppercut by Dimaio might have been best punch of fight. They come together exhausted. Other Penalties: Ruutu received an instigator and misconduct.

Comments: Canucks go up 1-0. On the next shift Laraque invites May to go. May hesitates, then nods. Laraque drops his gloves as the linesman tries to get in there, but he moves aside as May drops his gloves. Laraque goes for the grab, and May starts throwing lefts. He threw two, which didn't land as Laraque is pawing at May's helmet. May throws a couple of more lefts. At this point, Laraque stops going for May's hat and throws a few big lefts, about three or four, landing a couple. May loses his and goes to the ice.

Comments: They are tied up as Pisani throws a right which lands. More grappling and Ruutu throws three to four rights which land. Ruutu then gets Pisani's helmet off. Some more grappling and Ruutu throws a left. Pisani gets bent over forward and Ruutu is firing left hands landing, he switches to left uppercuts and is firing away. The linesmen then come in.

Comments: Moen drills Malik with a nice elbow. Malik then throws a good glove-punch to the face of Moen and they drop their gloves and hold on. Moen gets in the only shot of the fight after the linesmen come in.

Comments: Very clean squareoff at centre ice and they come together with Brookbank grabbing with the left and throwing with the right. Brookbank throws a couple of rights which put Oliwa off-balance, then boom, he lands a very solid right cross which knocks Oliwa down for good.

Comments: Ruutu runs Gelinas into the divider at the end of the bench which really infuriates Gelinas. He gets up and both guys immediately throw the gloves off and get in-close together. Gelinas has his head down and is throwing punches wildly while Ruutu is trying to get Gelinas' helmet off and pull the jersey over Gelinas' head. Gelinas is the only player throwing punches as Ruutu appears to be trying to pull a Darren Langdon and wait him out, but they fall before anything really happens.

Comments: scrum starts behind the net, Holmqvist comes in and grabs on to Ruutu. Ruutu starts it off with a few right hands. Then he switches to lefts, a couple landing. Holmqvist lands a good right, but Ruutu is throwing some more now, landing short rights. Ruutu is throwing hard uppercuts, Holmqvist is off-balance and the linesmen step in. Holmqvist never had his left glove off. Other Penalties: Ruutu received a roughing; Holmqvist an instigator and misconduct.

Comments: Starts off with the two grappling, both have helmets on, Ference with a visor. Ference throws a shot at Bouck, it glances off the side of Bouck's helmet. Bouck comes back with three rights, one hits Ference right across the jaw, the other two are blocked by Ference's arm. They jockey for position a bit, each trying to get an arm free. Ference sneaks a small punch in, no damage done. Bouck responds with a good left, but hits nothing but helmet. They grapple some more, spinning around, and Bouck lands another right to the side of Ferences' jaw/side of his neck, no damage done. They trade shots to the jaw, Ference seemed to get hurt for a second by that one, Bouck takes the opportunity to throw another punch, which deflects off Ference's helmet. Ference recovers himself and lands four good shots to Bouck's helmet, one of them may have hit Bouck in the side of the face/ear. Not a good angle. Ference goes to take Bouck's helmet off, and Bouck comes up with a roundhouse to the left of Ference's face. Ference bends over for a second, then pops back up. They grapple some more, and Ference takes off his helmet for some reason, but then the referees intervene. Other Penalties: Chris Gratton received a roughing.

Comments: Mike Keane crunches Dan Hamhuis behind the net and Hartnell, who's just feet away, goes right for Keane. They drop em directly in front of the net and Keane is firing the lefts and Hartnell with rights. Some wild swinging and it's hard to tell what lands. Hartnell goes to switch hands and throw a right, which lands, but sends himself off-balance and Keane lands up on top. Other Penalties: Hartnell received an instigator, unsportsmanlike conduct (for instigating with a shield) and a misconduct; Keane a major boarding.

Brookbank follows that up with another right that lands as Thornton is falling down.

Comments: Mellanby hooks Bertuzzi. Bert gets up and starts talking to Mellanby, they both drop the gloves and get a hold of each other's jersey. Mellanby throws a right to the side of Bert's stomach, then throws two or three more to the back of Bert while he is bending over. Bertuzzi straightens up and trys a huge right that might have grazed Mellanby. Bertuzzi then throws down Mellanby and the fight's over. Other Penalties: Mellanby received an obstruction.

Comments: May takes a jab at Dunham and Purinton doesn't like it. He goes over with his gloves off, and they break away from a scrum. They are in-close and Purinton lands two light rights as May gets a right to Purinton's shoulder. May switches to his left and throws five hard lefts with two or three landing solid. Purinton's jersey is over his head as May quickly switches to his right and lands two rights. May switches back to his left and feeds Purinton two or three. May is off-balance and as he is going down Purinton gets loose and gets in a couple of rights.

Comments: With the Devils now down 3-0, Brown jumps into the play and as the puck is cleared out of the zone he doesn't retreat. He meets up with May, and the gloves fly. Long squareoff. They both dive in and grab a hold of each other. They both throw a couple of lefts that either come up short or do very little damage. Brown comes with a quick right that lands decently and gets both of them off-balance. Brown then pulls the falling May, but May is able to keep his footing and falls atop Brown to end the fight.

Comments: Short sqaure off and both guys start off with rights, each throw about three or four before May switches and starts throwing lefts. May has a good grip on Montador's jersey and starts throwing rights again. Montador is answering back with his own lefts, and then May lands a flurry of punches towards the end and pushes Montador down.

Comments: With the game out of reach in the last minute Petro's talking to Cloutier in front of the net and grabs his stick. Cloutier goes at Ron throwing before dropping his equipment. Everyone starts to pair off as the linesmen and refs come in and Allen and Petro wind up with each other. It looks like Petro and Allen are content to just hold on to each other, but Petro then decides to throw a right that catches Allen off-guard. The right hit a combination of helmet and face. Allen tries to get loose with a couple of punches, but doesn’t land any. Allen then tries two left uppercuts, one may have landed, the other comes up short. Petro tries to answer back with a right over the top that goes over Allen’s head. Allen and Petro then exchange a few short rights, none of the punches really doing any damage. Allen then gets Petro bent over and tries two or three uppercuts, but it looks like those come up short, maybe one lands. They then tie up, move in close and the linesmen come in.

Comments: They square off right after the Wild goal. Johnson and Brookbank come together and each throw haymakers. Johnson has grasp of Brookbank's jersey with his left hand, he tries to jab Brookbank, and Brookbank loses his balance. Moose goes in for the kill, but Brookbank is up and gets Johnson's jersey pulled up over his head. Brookbank throws a few and lands at least one right with the jersey up. Johnson continued throwing, doing a good job at aiming with the jersey pulled up before they fall to the ice.

Comments: They square off, hands low, by the benches. They grab on and Brookbank throws a couple that can't reach. Worrell then throws a right that goes behind Brookbank's head as Brookbank throws a left that connects. Brookbank's a bit off-balance and Worrell throws a right that hits arm. As he's bringing back his right, Worrell hits Brookbank with his left that's full of jersey, more of a push-punch, sending Brookbank down with Worrell on top.

Comments: These two guys drop the gloves behind the play. After a square off they grab on and start tossing haymakers. Brookbank connects early with a good shot that looks to cut Shelley. Shelley comes back with a couple of good shots of his own, knocking Brookbank off-balance and dropping him to his knees. Brookbank gets back up and they both throw a few more punches.

Comments: Right after the Worrell-May fight these two drop em. They grab on and Moore throws some weak right hands. Cooke is trying jersey-jabs. Moore throws a right hand and then Cooke throws a few rights of his own. Moore then gets the jersey up on Cooke, but Cooke is able to get his head out the bottom immediately. Moore gets in a few weak rights, Cooke connects with a decent left, and then Moore takes Cooke down.

Comments: Ruutu wants this one. He's skating latched on the Blake and they take off the gloves and it is on. Blake starts with several left crosses and maybe one lands. Rutuu comes back with a right as they wrestle toward the boards. Blake's jersey gets tied up and his helmet is gone. He gets the left free and hits the glass with a left and then tosses another that misses. Rutuu gets a good grip with this left hand and then he starts with the rights. He tosses two that land. The first one puts Blake down. His head almost rams off the boards on the way down.

May sees him and they immediately do another showboat square off. May throws a few lefts that don't do anything and then Worrell muscles him down to the ice.

Comments: Bertuzzi challenges Moore all over the ice. Moore wants nothing to do with him. As Moore is skating away, Bertuzzi lands a gloved-sucker-punch to the side of Moore's face, knocking him out instantly. Moore falls face-first onto the ice with Bertuzzi on top of him. Others pile on, and everyone on the ice is getting together. Hedberg left his crease while all of this was going on and challenges Aebischer, but Aebischer simply pointed to the clock and wanted nothing to do with Hedberg. May finds Sauer for his third (and automically final) fight of the night. They grapple to start, then May gets loose and the camera pans away from the fight and the announcers say that May landed a huge left that hurt Sauer. The camera then goes back to the combatants, only to see May over Sauer. Other Penalties: Johan Hedberg received a goalie leaving the crease penalty; Todd Bertuzzi an attempt to injure; May a double game misconduct; Sauer a game misconduct.

Comments: Right off the faceoff they drop 'em and get in tight. Brookbank gets the right going and it looks as if he may have landed a couple. While this was goin on, Johnson throws some rights of his own and then they go into hug mode. They end up against the boards and Johnson has Brookbank leaned over the bench a little. He starts to toss some lefts in tight and Brookbank may have eaten a couple of them on the side of the head. Both fighters are in an awkward position by the Vancouver bench and the fight is broken up. Johnson skates away with a small cut on the bridge of his nose.

Comments: Vandy asks for this one and they drop em and get in close early. Both fighters get each other's helmet off. Brookbank tries a few rights which don't go anywhere. Brookbank then gets his left free and throws three shots. It looked like two missed clearly and the third might have landed. Vandy then goes for the take down in a short fight.

Comments: Both grab a hold of some jersey and start chucking rights. Nothing looks to land from either guy. Brookbank then gets a bit loose and lets off a flurry of jabs, perhaps three or four, connecting on at least one, cutting Shelley. Brookbank then ties Shelley up. The linesmen try to come in, but Shelley tells them not to and Brookbank continues to just tie up Shelley until the linesmen do step in.

Comments: May is running around crushing Kings. Cowan responds and takes a run at Canuck rookie Ryan Kesler. May comes right after Cowan and they sqaure off behind the play. They come together and start chucking em. Cowan lands a good one early, May misses with some haymakers, and Cowan throws a few of his own. May comes on and lands some big time haymakers at the end, it looked like one good shot helped Cowan go off-balance.

Comments: Behind the play they drop the lids, shed the equipment and have a short little square off by the Yotes blueline. They come together and start tossing em. Bouck starts it off with some rights, Ference throws a few short shots of his own. Bouck switches to the left and starts landing some good punches. Two or three in a row. They grapple a little bit and Ference comes back with some short rights. Bouck now has a hand out of his jersey and is throwing. He lands multiple big shots, and the crowd cheers with every punch he throws. Ference tries to come back with one or two in return, but nothing really connects. Bouck is tired out and gets the takedown.
