Nov 06, 2001 2pd 11:12 Bryce Salvador SAN Scott Thornton
They meet along the boards and it appears Salvador initiated the fight. Thornton got out of the gate early and was throwing them fast. He may have caught Salvador with a couple and Salvador tucked his head in. Then Salvador comes out of the clinch and throws a couple with one of them appearing to land and knock down Thornton. Thornton also appeared to have gotten knocked off balance when Salvador came out of the clinch.

Nov 24, 2001 1pd 10:15 Bryce Salvador ARI Brad May
Bryce Salvador and Brad May go at center ice with Salvador going after May. May drills Salvador with a big time right square on its target. Then they grab, wrestle a bit, trade a few more punches (that appeared clean). Salvador loses his balance and goes down on the ice with May on top. Salvador was cut pretty good by Mays right, the towel was full of blood while in the box. These two had a good fight last season.

Dec 15, 2001 3pd 16:29 Reed Low CAL Jamie Allison
Allison leads with a left that grazes. Then they grapple with Low getting Allison's helmet off. Low gets the left free with Allison thinking he got a good hold on the shoulder, but has Low's collar instead. Allison gets the right somewhat free with Low having a slight hold on the shoulder of the Jersey. They trade 5 or 6 with Low getting the better of 'em. He got Allison pretty decently a couple of times. Allison looses his balance and goes and stays down. Linesman come in and Low throws a few more for good measure (probably since he hasn't played in so long).

Dec 22, 2001 2pd 11:13 Reed Low @FLA Joey Tetarenko
They mutually decide to drop the gloves and have a brief square-off. Low gets the better of the fight early on as he's able to get the right free and land some decent shots. Tetarenko then starts to come on and lands some good rights of his own. But after the short flurry from Tetarenko, Low is able to take control again and gets Tetarenko in a bad position and is able to get the left free and throws some before taking Tetarenko down. Low appeared to have some marks on his face so Tetarenko must have landed some shots but Low controlled this fight and got the better of the shots in. Very good fight with both guys landing some good shots.

Jan 03, 2002 1pd 05:24 Reed Low CBJ Jody Shelley
The camera gets in as Low is delivering a right which comes up short and follows with another right which misses. After a moment of grappling Low attempts a right uppercut and nothing's happening. Shelley fires a right which hits Low in the back. Low is cocked and ready. Shelley fires a wild right which grazes Reed's face and stuns him a bit. Shelley releases another right hitting Low in the helmet just above the face. Two more weak rights miss. Shelley gets bent over and Reed fires a left over his back and misses and then a left uppercut that ain't happening. Jody comes back with a right to the neck that lands solidly as a Low left misses. Jody lands another right that snaps Low's head sideways and follows with an errant right over the head. Reed gets a bit off balance and causes Shelley to miss with a right then Reed goes for the hug. In tight now, Shelley unloads a heavy right that appears to fall just short. Rights by both men miss badly. Low's hair looks wild coming out of his helmet! Jody grazes his helmet with another right. More grabbing. Shelley catches Reed with an inadvertant forearm to the face. 34 is losing this one folks. I swear Reed looks like a stand in for some Mad Max film with that hair. Jody looks to land a short left to the face while in close. Reed is trying to get the helmet off and finally does. Oooh, and then he corks a right off the back off Shelley's head. Jody comes back with a strong left to the face! That straightened his hair out! Tiring a bit. Low lands a right to the side of the head. Twisting around. Low lands another right to the head and has a bloody knuckle now. Owww, Low just landed a doozy right to the head again. Shelley is losing momentum. He slips to the ice and the zebras rush in. Low lands a right to the back as Shelley is down on a knee and the refs are in. Credit Low for making a solid comeback.

Both guys emerge from a scrum of bodies in front of Edmonton net and pair off. Both throw some good shots with both hands and Mellanby looked to be throwing the better shots - and then Staios unloaded a big right hand that nailed Mellanby flush on the ear and stopped him dead in his tracks. He was done right then and there although he didn't go down.

Jan 21, 2002 3pd 05:46 Reed Low @BOS P.J. Stock
Right off of the faceoff they drop the gloves and square off in front of the Blues' net. They grab ahold of each other and Low starts things off with a series of five straight rights. Stock returns fire with a left of his own and they start going toe-to-toe with rapid fire punches: Stock with the left, Low with the right. They continue to throw non-stop for a long while until Low grabs Stock and switches hands, throwing a left. They go toe-to-toe once again for a short moment, this time with the opposite hand for each. They spin around and Low gets in a right. Stock answers with a flurry of six lefts and then four rights. Low comes back with three rights and then loses his balance, allowing Stock to get in a left. They then go back and forth with a mix of lefts and rights while spinning around until they finally decide to just hold on and let the linesmen intervene.

Jan 23, 2002 1pd 14:27 Jamal Mayers @BUF Chris Gratton
They're in the corner, both players drop 'em. Mayers gets in some quick shots and then there's a bunch of grappling. As they're grabbing and shoving, Mayers throws a bunch of quick "rabbit" punches while still holding Gratton's jersey. Gratton then gets Mayers hunched over and throws a couple of shots. One looked to be a huge uppercut that put Mayers down. If so, late TKO in what would have been a loss for Gratton. If it didn't hit, then just an ok late showing for Gratton.

Vandy smashed Nash to the boards with a check, Low comes in and the two agree to go. They have a short but fair square off then they grab on. Low loses his footing quickly while Vandy grabs hold and throws a couple of lefts with not much damage. Low then counters with a punch or two that totally miss their mark then Low once again falls to the ice.

Jan 30, 2002 2pd 05:47 Bryce Salvador @WAS Chris Simon
Simon bumps the St Louis goalie, which looked inadvertant, and Salvador does the right thing by coming in to challenge Simon. The gloves kinda come off and both guys grab on. Salvador must be new to this because he still has his right glove on. Off it goes. Well, Bryce sneeks a short right in and it lands to Simon's face. Impressive. Simon wants to return a left, but it's tied up. As he switches to the right Salvador feeds him another right. Simon then pushes his fist up Salvador's face bending him sideways. There is some pulling and tugging then both guys get off balance and fall down. Although Simon's face never faced the camera he did wipe blood from his face on the way to the box. Other Penalties: Simon received a goaltender interference.

Simon clearly wants another go as he drills Salvador into the boards and drops the gloves immediately. Simon goes for the grab and fires a left which misses, but Salvador goes on the defensive and lowers his head. Simon lands a heavy left as Bryce straightens up which buckles his knees. That one hurt. Simon is mad. Salvador gets back up but his head is still down. He charges into Simon and tackles him. Both guys go down and this one is over.

In the right circle in front of the Flyers' net, Low and the Fridge drop 'em. They square off and Reed starts firing, throwing 5 rights. Fedoruk gets free and throws 3 of his own, unfortunately at Reed's body. Low then fires off 3 more as Fedoruk looks lost out there. They dance a little as the lunchbox throws some more body shots. Reed switches hands and throws 5 more, connecting on 2 or 3. They start spinning around and Reed gets the shirt over Todd's head and throws three more, connecting on 2. Low had the icebag on his left hand while in the box.

Off a faceoff in front of the Flyers' net, both Low and Brash agree to drop 'em. Brash then quickly goes for the grasp, but only tempoarily. Reed fires 2 first, then Brash comes back with 6 fast shots, landing on a couple, one of them real good. Brash throws a couple more before Reed gets 2 or 3 off. Brash gets going again, throwing 3 or 4, landing on 2. Reed tries to return some as Brash is trying to lock him out. They skate around as both try and get going, both throwing rabbit shots. The refs finally separate the two, and Brash does the "Reed Low skate to the box" imitation.

A little scrum in front of the benches and after coming together Slegr gives Pronger a big-time facewash and pays dearly for it. Pronger got the right going and basically beat him bloody. No KO or anything like that, but Pronger got the right hand going and really went to town on Slegr. Props to Slegr for not hitting the deck after he took some serious punishment. Other Penalties: Pronger received an instigator, misconduct, and game misconduct; Andy Sutton a roughing; Ilya Kovalchuk and Doug Weight both got misconducts.

Odgers goes after Salvador as he feels the need to avenge Pronger's dismantling of Slegr. The cameras missed most of the early part of the fight, but when they got there Odgers had Salvador's jersey over his head and was throwing his trademark right hand. Salvador was throwing straight rights too and they both quickly hit the ice rather violently. Other Penalties: Odgers received an instigator, misconduct, and game misconduct.

After they get back to their feet a ref comes between them. They are yapping at each other and trying to throw the odd jab. The ref backs off and lets them go. Regehr starts off throwing rights and Low is forced into the defensive. After 5 shots or so Low fires back with at least 6 (ref got in the way and it was hard to see exactly what was going on). At this point Regehr is on the defensive and is holding Low at arms length with his head as far away as possible. The guys are out of gas now. Other Penalties: Regehr received a roughing and double game misconduct; Low a misconduct (earning him three in all in this brawl).

Mar 09, 2002 2pd 03:02 Tyson Nash DET Sean Avery
Camera moves in with Avery landing about 2 or 3 short noogie shots. Nash has his head down as his helmet comes over his face. Tyson misses with a blind, wild right. His helmet's completely off now as Nash goes for Avery's leg looking for the early takedown. But Avery keeps his balance and lands an uppercut to Tyson's shoulder. Another right by Avery just out of reach. Sean controlling the fight so far, but nothing of significance landed yet. Avery lands to the back of the head. Nash desperately trying to get his arm free. Avery misses with a big left and his momentum put him in a bad position. Tyson Nash gets his arm out of the jersey and now its his turn. He lands 1 helmet shot, then fires a vicious haymaker that would've landed Sean in the minors if it connected (but doesn't). He misses 2 more, then finally appears to land 1. Both toss a couple with Avery missing 2 lefts and Nash landing to the shoulder. A big right thrown by Nash, but couldn't tell if it landed. Avery goes to throw a left, but is greeted with a solid right to his jaw. Nash misses 2 more, with the second allowing Avery to get the takedown.

Mellanby is fired up and is throwing his weight around all over the ice. Ends up in front of the net jostling for position with Avs Defenceman Bryan Muir. Sticks come up, tempers flare, and off come the gloves. Muir doesn't look interested while Mellanby has a crazed look on his face. Muir is holding on trying to lock Mellanby out, but Scott gets free and starts throwing bombs with his right. Roughly 4 or 5 punches landed.

Mar 13, 2002 2pd 14:21 Dallas Drake @SAN Gary Suter
Drake and Suter chase a puck that goes behind the Shark's net. Drake is more interested in landing a big hit on Suter than gaining control of the puck however and both men go down. Suter sits on Drake for a while until the back of the net clears a little, then both men get up. Drake takes a shot at Suter who fires a harder one back. Drake gets pissed and drops his gloves, and they go. Suter looked to have gotten 2, maybe 3 shots in while Drake layed in 3 or 4 shots, none that looked solid. Suter threw a punch that made him lose his footing and he went down, dragging Drake down with him as he fell. Afterwards Drake appeared to be bleeding. Other Penalties: Suter received a roughing and double high-sticking; Drake a roughing.

JP Dumont elbows Mayers, who then belts JP with a gloved right, knocking JP into his normal turtled position. Rhett and Gratton make a beeline for Mayers. After they drop em Gratton and Afingenov are both pulling at Mayers from behind. The refs do a good job of clearing them outta there. Mayers throws a right to Warrener's neck. They pull each other around some, then Warrener throws a big right just missing. Mayers throws 3 hard rights to the back of Rhett's neck. Then they both throw at same time - Mayers misses his, while Warrener lands a forearm or elbow to Mayer's jaw, rocking his head back pretty good. Jamal regains himself, throws an over the top right, that rhett blocked. They get tangled and fall. Other Penalties: Warrener received an instigator and a game misconduct; Mayers received a roughing.

Both drop the gloves right off the faceoff. They have a nice long square-off, and Mayers starts off with a left that missed. May counters quickly with a right that didn't connect. Then May got Mayers real good with a right uppercut. Both fighters get off balance and Mayers lifts May's leg up and they fall to the ice. May looked to land a quick left on his way back to his knees. Mayers was possibly stunned by that right, he had a cut on his lip.

Probert checks Nash who gets his hands/stick up in Probie's face. Later in the shift Probert crosschecks Nash to the ice, punches him in the back of the head (w/glove on). While the refs are busy with these two, Downey and Low get together. Low starts it with a semi-uppercut, then a right to Downey's neck. Downey misses with a right, Low misses with a short right, then throws a left to Downey's ear. Downey misses 2 big lefts, Low rips his helmet off, then throws a left that hits Downey in jaw/neck. A left to top of Downey's head, then a left that turns Downey around. Low then throws 3 or 4 lefts to back of Downey's head. Downey looked like he landed a nice left to the side of Low's jaw, then misses with a left. Now they're twirling with both having their lefts free. Downey misses badly, then lands a nice left on Low, and then throws a haymaker that low blocks. A left by Downey to Low's chest, then an uppercut which is hard to tell if it hit. They tie up in close, Low throws a week left, then rocks Downey's head back with an uppercut. Low lands 5 short lefts on side of Downey's face and ear, then misses with an uppercut, then 2 more short lefts. Downey throws 2 weak lefts, and Low throws one that glances Downey's forehead. Downey misses an uppercut, and hits low with two on the helmet afterward. They both look at each other like thats enough and the linesmen come in. Other Penalties: Bob Probert received a double crosschecking and a roughing; Tyson Nash received a roughing.
