Sutton throws a clean check on Talbot, skates up ice and VandenBussche checks Sutton into the boards and they drop em. Sutton's stick is between them during the short fight and Vandy's trying to deal with Sutton and the stick. Sutton goes for VandenBussche's helmet, pulling him downward, and throws an uppercut that might have landed, then just misses a wild right across Vandy's bow.Vandy throws an off-balance left that Sutton ducks, then falls, pulling VandenBussche on top of him. Other Penalties: VandenBussche received an interference.

They tie up before Bouwmeester throws a couple of uppercuts. Talbot throws a couple of rights as Bouwmeester rips off Talbot's helmet. They exchange rights for a short moment before Talbot misses with an uppercut. Bouwmeester connects with a long right as Talbot returns fire with a right of his own. They struggle to get loose and Bouwmeester throws a right as Talbot comes back with two rights before Bouwmeester throws him to the ice.

Vandenbussche switches hands again and throws two lefts while Henry is turned around. Henry turns back around and grabs on to Vandenbussche and throws a short left as they wrestle around for a bit. Vandenbuscche throws a locked out left and then a right before the two finally get loose. Henry throws a couple of rights as the two exchange numerous punches; Henry with rights, Vandenbussche with the left. Vandenbussche stops throwing as Henry throws a couple of more rights before Vandenbussche returns fire with a right of his own. Vandenbussche throws a left as the linesmen come in.

Hainsey lands three more rights while Armstrong is bent over before Hainsey just pushes Armstrong to the ice and the linesmen come in. Shelley then wrestles Roy to the ice and holds him there until the two return to their feet. Shelley connects with two rights as Roy throws two overhand rights that miss. They each attempt a locked-out right before Shelley comes over the top with a right that knocks Roy's helmet off. They fall to the ice again and the linesmen come in shortly after. Other Penalties: Each player received a game misconduct.

They wrestle around in tight as Barnaby lands a couple of short rights while Odelein struggles to get loose. Barnaby switches hands and connects with a left jab as Odelein throws three rights that hit the side of Barnaby's helmet. They wrestle around as Barnaby gets in a couple of rights while they are in close quarters. Odelein switches hands and misses with a left as Barnaby throws a right. Barnaby throws another right that hits the side of Odelein's helmet before telling the linesmen to back off. Odelein throws two rights to the side of Barnaby's head as Barnaby continues to tell the linesmen that they aren't done just yet. Barnaby throws a jersey-jab and then an uppercut as Odelein just holds on, obviously fatigued. Barnaby throws a couple of more uppercuts before the linesmen come in.

Ovechkin remains down on the ice in obvious pain with the Washington trainer looking over him. Lefebvre switches hands and throws four lefts as Redden returns fire with two rights. Redden throws a right to the back of Lefebvre's head and the two grapple. Redden gets free and throws two more rights as Lefebvre throws four short rights to the back of Redden's head before they fall to the ice.

The puck drops and the two drop the gloves and square off. Doull grabs on and misses with a left. Roy throws four straight rights with Doull throwing two of his own before they let go of each other. Roy takes off his elbow pad as Doull skates over and hits Roy with an overhand right while Roy is bent over. They wrestle around for a short while and Doull continues to keep Roy bent over. Doull switches hands and throws a right before ripping Roy's helmet off. They spin around as Doull throws an overhand left before Roy lands two rights and both guys lose their balance and fall to the ice.

Roy then throws a flurry of rights with a few landing and Commodore throws a body shot and tries to duck away from Roy's punches. Commodore gets turned around and Roy lands five rights to the back of his helmet. Commodore throws a right in defense as Roy lands another right to the side of Commodore's head. Commodore then falls to the ice and the linesmen rush in. Roy skates off shaking his hand in pain.

After squaring off at the blueline, Brashear grabs ahold of Cairns and throws four lefts with two connecting before losing his balance and going down to a knee. Brashear returns to his feet and throws another left while Cairns returns fire with five straight rights, one of them knocking off Brashear's helmet. Brashear is able to get Cairns bent over and then gets his left arm free, firing off three lefts. Cairns responds with a right and the two go toe-to-toe with punches for a short moment: Brashear with lefts, Cairns with rights. Brashear then throws three more lefts while Cairns tries to get his right arm free from Brashear's grasp. Cairns does and throws two more rights while Brashear loses his balance and falls to the ice.

Belak skates over and decks Hilbert, causing everyone to pile in with those two on the bottom. Tie Domi grabs Eric Cairns and drops his gloves while the two skate further down ice and talk for a little. The linesmen are able to separate the players and Cairns yells at Belak while he skates by. Other Penalties: Belak received an instigator and misconduct; Hilbert a roughing. Andy Hilbert did not receive a fighting major.
