Oct 09, 2003 3pd 19:41 Jason Wiemer @WAS Brian Sutherby
The Isles' Bergenheim partially collides with Kolzig and Kolzig takes exception and yells some words at Bergenheim. Witt starts lookng for trouble and some revenge for the spill Kolzig took. Bergenheim then rams Ettinger into the boards and a few seconds later at center ice a brawl/scrum erupts. Witt goes after Cairns and in come the fighters. Everyone has a partner with Witt-Cairns and Sutherby-Wiemer as the main attractions. The Witt/Carins scrap is between the linesmen so not much happens. At the same time, Sutherby and Weimer have each other's jerseys. Suddenly, Sutherby gives Wiemer a right and away they go. Weimer starts throwing lefts, a couple connected. Sutherby than lands a strong right, before Wiemer answers with a left. After some quick grappling, Sutherby loses his balance along the boards and goes down. Meanwhile, Godard had to be restrained by Kerry Fraser as he somehow did not find a partner during the skirmish. Godard dropped the gloves, but didn't give Fraser a hard time about being restrained. Other Penalties: Janne Niinimaa, Eric Godard, Eric Cairns and Brendan Witt each received a roughing.

Oct 11, 2003 1pd 02:20 Eric Godard @BUF Andrew Peters
Nice even squareoff. They wait and Godard goes in. They grab and have each other locked out. Godard jersey-punches with the left, and then throws a right hand. They exchange rights, but Godards are more effective. He then switches to left, Peters goes down (slip), gets back up and it's a good, long bout. Both guys land, but Godard lands more until they finally tire out and hug till the linesmen come in.

Mair lays a big hit on Jason Blake. Scatchard comes in immediately and drops the gloves. Mair seems to drop his quickly too (hard to tell, camera a split second too late). Scatchard lays some nice punches on him, one square on the nose. Mair's trying to balance himself off and fire some shots back when Scatchard lands a couple more, one sending him down, TKO. Other Penalties: Scatchard received an instigator and misconduct.

Oct 11, 2003 3pd 13:46 Eric Cairns @BUF Andrew Peters
Long squareoff. They finally grab a hold of each other and they're trying to get the arms free. Cairns wants to throw big rights, while Peters is throwing short jabs. Cairns can't get much going, while Peters is getting his jabs in. It's more apparent when Peters gets Cairns up against the boards and pinned while landing some more jabs. Cairns finally gets off the boards, throws a couple that miss, goes to wind up and Peters falls, bringing Eric down with him. Cairns throws a shot while down.

Oct 20, 2003 2pd 09:53 Eric Godard TOR Tie Domi
Godard lays out Tucker and Domi comes in to have words. They drop em and go. Domi slips, Godard lets him up. Domi lands some rights, and Godard lands a few weaker shots. It appeared one might have thrown Domi off-balance as he goes down again. Godard lets him up again. Some more shots by each, a decent right by Domi and Domi goes down (slip) and gets back up again. Domi swings a couple of haymakers and it looks like at least one landed well. Then they tie each other up and it's done.

Marchment lays a hit on Bergenheim and Godard decides he's ready to go again. Starts off a little slow. Godard gets in a couple, then Marchment takes over and lands a few shots to Godard's face while having Godard tied up pretty well. Godard lands one big one at the end and seemed to bloody Marchment's cheek. Other Penalties: Godard received an instigator and misconduct.

After a squareoff, Buchberger started throwing wild punches while Cairns was catching his balance. Cairns might have landed a decent uppercut, then he got Kelly's jersey up over his head and landed a couple of overhand rights to the back of Kelly's head, but Buchy kept coming while the linesmen came in.

Oct 25, 2003 2pd 06:16 Eric Cairns PIT Steve McKenna
Cairns has words with Lemieux and McKenna comes over. They meet behind the net, along boards and are immediately tied up. Cairns has Mckenna in a headlock and is talking to the linesmen the whole time. Could be about the visor McKenna currently is sporting. They finally start swinging, McKenna a right and Cairns a left or two. Cairns goes to the right and now both guys are throwing right hands with some intent. They both land a couple of rights, and McKenna gets Cairns' jersey up. Linesmen come right in. McKenna did receive the unsportsmanlike conduct for instigating with a visor. Other Penalties: McKenna received an instigator, unsportsmanlike conduct and misconduct.

They come out of a scrum, drop the gloves and Wiemer throws a quick right. Bradley then throws right after right, but it didn't look like any of them were landing. However, the non-stop punching didn't let Wiemer get anything in. After Wiemer can finally get his arm free and ready to swing, they each exchange a couple of rights before Bradley loses his balance and falls.

In front of Snow, they drop the gloves and Sven starts chucking rights. Malone, coming from the School of Barnaby, is smiling and yapping while being punched in the head. Sven finally hit him with a good one and he burried his head in Sven's sweater. Sven goes down and Malone starts chucking the right like crazy as the linesmen come in. Brash is challenged by Godard and they drop em with a decent squareoff. Brash gets the left going on Godard, and gets a lot of helmet/side of head. Brash throws some uppercuts that also connect and then Godard throws a few shots himself. They go down and get back up. Brash has a good lock on Godard preventing him from swinging well. They throw a couple more, mainly Brash, who's connecting well with his shots, and then get in close and the linesman come in.

These two have a good square off behind the play. As they come together, Fedoruk nails Cairns with a hard left on the chin, dropping him. The linesmen hestitate to get in, and Fedoruk lets Cairns back up to continue. They each throw an overhand right, and then Cairns gets his right arm out of his sleeve. Cairns lands a hard right cross, square on Fedoruk's cheek, causing Todd to grab on. Cairns throws a few more from underneath before he lets up and the two tumble to the ice. It was later revealed that Fedoruk had his orbital bone broken in the fight.

Nice long squareoff. Brookbank lunges in and both players grab the jerseys with the left and start throwing rights. Brookbank throws three rights, with two looking to connect to Godard's forehead, knocking his helmet off. Godard throws a couple of rights that connect. Brookbank ducks his head to miss more rights and Godard throws a couple of uppercuts that come up short as Brookbank almost has his jersey pulled over his head. Wade straightens up and they each throw several rights with a couple landing in a nice exchange. Godard gets Brookbank off-balance and they both tumble to the ice.

Both fighters squareoff at center ice. They each start off with several short rights to the forehead and helmet. Cairns pops McKenzie's helmet off with one of the punches. Neither fighter looks to land anything heavy, but Cairns threw several more and looked like he controlled the short, but lively fight. They each seemed to tire out pretty quickly.

They line up opposite each other on the faceoff, Godard taps Shelley the puck is dropped and away we go, nice even squareoff. Shelley goes in first, throwing rights, Godard then answers with rights of his own, both guys are landing right hands. Godard puts his head down to throw a nice right uppercut that lands square on Shelleys face. Both guys are just chucking them in an excellent scrap, but Godard did land a better punch or two, square to Shelley's face while Shelley was generally getting helmet. Shelley was dripping a decent amount of blood from his nose when it was done.

They squareoff and lock up. Asham throws some rights that don't do much, then he pops Williams with one that makes Williams bend over. While he's bent over, Asham quickly gets his helmet off. Williams straightens up and throws a couple of punches, not doing much. They're grappling and Asham throws a couple of rights and lefts that don't damage Williams, but gives Asham the opportunity to get in position to throw some good rights while whipping Williams around, sending him down while punching. Other Penalties: Williams received a cross checking; Asham a slashing.

They are skating into the Rangers zone and Scott drops them first. Cairns wants a squareoff, but Scott just charges after Cairns. They start throwing good hard rights, both knocking off each other's helmet. It was Cairns early, Scott in the middle, and Cairns again late. They both just fired rights during the whole fight. At the very end, Cairns popped Scott with a right that appeared to hit flush. Scott seemed a bit dazed after it and did not return.

Cowan has some words for Kvasha, who was given a goaltender interference penalty for knocking over Nurminen. Cairns comes in to say hello and it's broken up. It's now 3 on 3 and these two are still out there for the faceoff, so you know it's coming. The puck drops, and they squareoff. It looks even, some ok shots by both. Cowan gets in a couple of shots as Cairns also lands some ok ones. Cairns is trying to get his right hand out of his sleeve. He does, and throws two uppercuts. Cowan's already bent over, and it appears the uppercuts landed on the top of Cowan's head, and Cowan goes down.

He drops the gloves grabs on and finally Asham obliges. Asham throws a good uppercut that connects flush and then Hale lands overhand right. They each throw a few rights, both connecting at least twice. Asham lands the better shots, one very solid. Eventually Asham gets Hale over and he falls to a knee. Hale then gets back up and takes down Asham. Asham came away from the scrap with a bloody jersey, trickling down from a spot near his eye that was opened from a high stick right before the bout. Belak grabs on with the left and is throwing jersey punches with the left and trying to throw with the right. Belak is controlling the pace by keeping Godard off-balance. Earlier they received coincidental roughings at the time, but didn't go when they got out of the box because another penalty was taken within that time putting Boston on the power play. They meet behind the net finally and drop the gloves and squareoff. They grab on and Cairns is firing rights at will, but nothing devastating. He's throwing gloved punches, but Scatchard has a brace on and can't fight. Simon drops the gloves, as does Scatchard when Simon gets in-close and Scatch holds on while Simon punches him for a bit. The linesmen can't break it up too effectively at first because more players are pairing off. They fall to the ice where Scatch is able to throw a couple of shots, but nothing really. In the mean time Messier's pushing around with Blake. Dipietro goes to get in between, but the two break away. Dunham skate down, but nothing happens.
