''Applicator'' makes a long-distance, but clean, hit,
and gets punched to the ice for his efforts,
by a better than average, non-fighter.

Morris with the lefts and right with the right coming when Abdelkader was down. Abdelkader got 21 penalty minutes in the contest--how often does that happen to a Detroit player?

In today's NHL, if you're going to hit like that...you're going to get a beating.
Obvious Win for Morris but could have held off one the last one.
Notice the silence in the arena.

morris stands up for his teammate getting flattened from a loooong run. i know he coasted most of the way, but he was flying. it was a great hit, and i don't have a problem with it at all, but stempniak has been phoenix's best goal scorer for a while now, so morris basically had to. morris domination, 5. (is this one hell of a series of what?! too bad about doan...)

Morris is a bitch. Coyotes can give it but cant take it. morris punches him multiple times while Justin is on the ice. BIOTCH.

Everyone here needs to look at the sticks, abdelakder steps on not one but 2 sticks, yeah he really got beat up. I would like to see someone here try fighting and step on a stick 2 different times. Guaranteed on even footing Abdelakder wins that fight.

Oh and Abdelkader absolutely killed stempniak CLEAN HIT

I love clean, hard open ice hits, those are things of beauty. However, that was a down right stupid (close to a head-high) hit right near the boards, could've been a really nasty result. That idiot deserved the beating he took, I wish he was dragged back up off the ice and beaten down two or three more times. In fact, he needs another one next game to remind him not to take liberties with guys near the boards.

Good hit. Bs cheap shots, regardless of all of the posts to the contrary from the trailer trash brigade.

HAHA of course you are going to get smacked after putting a hit like that

morris with the win, but it was a clean hit, he was hitting him while down, abs wasn't ready for it. stepped on two sticks.

and all this stick up for your goal scorer stuff, no way. stempniak was a no show in that series. he had two assists and finished minus-4.

granted i'm a homer, but i would like to see these two on open ice go for it. i think abs would destroy morris.

morris slight edge. not a real fight though. can't wait to see how this playoff progresses. I can see a lot of fights next round if Washington advances to face either the flyers or pens...

Good job standing up for your teammate!

Clear win for Morris. But I have to play both sides of the fence here. I like the hit, although after seeing the replay from another angle, it looks like he came in high, almost a head shot. And, with that in mind, I like that Morris came to the aid of his teammate and sends a message... I like the way he picked him back up off the ice with one hand...but then I'm disappointed at all the extra shots he attempted while the Abductor was laying on the ice.
