| Mar 13, 2002 | Edmonton Oilers | Scott Ferguson |
| 3pd 02:45 | Detroit Red Wings | Sean Avery |
| Started as a battle for the puck along the boards behind the Oilers' net. Ferguson was all over Avery. Avery turned to face Ferguson and they looked ready to go. But they didn't just yet. They skated around the net and Avery dropped his gloves and started first. Ferguson dropped his right away and the fight was on. Avery started with some good rights, maybe 5, but it was hard to see if they landed or not because the linesman got in the way of the camera. Ferguson tried to tie up the right, but that wasn't working, so he decided to throw some left hand shots. The first two landed rather stiff, as they made Avery stop punching and duck his head. Ferguson followed those two punches up with about 4 more lefts but they didn't land too well. Avery came back with some more rights that didn't seem to connect, then Avery pulled off a pretty good move, ducking under Ferguson's left arm and coming out the other side, leaving the back of Ferguson's head wide open. Avery couldn't capitalize on this as Ferguson went down. | ||

Ferguson landed more and mostly controlling the fight until Avery took it well in the end pounding Fergu to the ice.
Partly a knockdown.
A solid draw.
