Leave it to a Philthadelphia goalie to bring goonism to goaltending, not only did he jump chelios here but another example of his thuggery would be the same playoff year chasing Rob Brown of the Penguins around as he waved his stick in the air threatening to decapitate him. What a jackass. I along with the rest of the league was glad when that lunatic retired.

This wasn't some random attack by Hextall. Chelios had done something to a Flyer prior in the game and Hextall took matters in his own hands and played enforcer.

Flyers are acting like a group of chimpanzees and the crowd as well. What a shame for that wonderfull game and yes I was more than happy when Hextall retired what a cretin...

that is totally awesome....hextall kicks ass....chelios had something like this coming to him after his hit on propp....although, i must say it was rather ill-timed....there was always a chance of the team getting back into the game if that didn't happen....also, i love patrick roy, but i don't get why he didn't go down to the philly zone when it was all going down and go after hextall....don't really like how he waited till hextall was tied up by the linesman to challenge him....woulda been a great scrap between those two

Its funny how some people dont realize why hextall did it and think he just did it cus he is a head case

in case you didnt know, earlier in the series chelios viciously elbowed Brian Propp, one of the flyers best players, in the head knocking him out and giving him a bad concussion that would keep him out the rest of the year and would affec him for the rest of his career

chelios did not get punished or even called for a penalty on the play, so at this point when it looked like the flyers were 2 minutes away from getting elminated, Hextall took it into his own hands to try to get back at him

in this case hextall wasnt a scumbag, he was just sticking up for Propp and giving chelios wat he deserved, we just dont see it from a goalie very often and in this case i praise hextall and most people should

I am pretty sure this was retaliation for Chelios destroying Propp with that Elbow in game 1. With that said Hex was idiot but you got to love him for the excitment he brought with his antics

Ron Hextall is a f*cking legend and as someone who posts on hockeyfights.com, you should be ashamed of saying that you were glad when he retired.
