Comments: Clowe and Mayers exchange a few words along the side boards before deciding to drop the gloves. They quickly grab ahold of each other and Mayers starts things off with a right. Clowe attempts a couple of locked-out rights, but nothing comes of it. Mayers then fakes with the right and throws a left that just misses, allowing Clowe to connect with an overhand right to the side of Mayers' helmet. Mayers loses his balance and falls to the ice. Mayers starts to get back up, but Clowe lands an uppercut followed by a straight right. Mayers throws a wild right that misses the target and Clowe gets in two more rights while Mayers falls to the ice for the last time. The linesmen jump on top and Clowe stands right up, examining his injured right hand.

Mayers tried to get back up?!? Looked more like Clowe picked him back up to give him a worse beatdown.

Clowe and Mayers engage, and from the start the look on Jamal's face is "uh-oh" as Clowe just hammers him with cement filled haymakers.

When Jamal goes down, Clowe picks him up, and for a split second if you watch it in slowed motion, you can see the look on Jamal's face that says "I'm not getting up again, no way. Uh-oh- I'm getting up again!"

Clowe just rips him apart and dumps him head first onto the ice with one last shot. There was a clear circle on his dome from the crash landing.

Clowe is unassuming and under-creditted with his power and initiative in fighting. Call him Owen Nolan part II for the Sharks, except younger. This guy can kick ass, assist and score.

Crap fight. Clowe Edges Mayers for staying up and active.

Clowe has really impressed me since he's been in the NHL. I knew nothing about him before the NHL, but he appears to be a solid light heavyweight, maybe the best in the league in that category. And he's probably tough enough to step up against some of the heavyweights of the league as well. He completely manhandled Mayers in this one and got the clear win.

Clowe knocks down Mayers with a Right after taking a weak right, then pulls Mayers up by the jersey, flips im, puts another right on him, pulls the jersey over his eyes, and throws Mayers to the ice. Fight over

Think Jamal needs a little more time learning to stand. Darn refs get in too early again.

announcers make excuses for Mayers, but Clowe pummels this guy. NOt even close. Was expecting it to be the other way around.

Clowe rated an edge for maintaining his balance better. He deserves credit for not taking a cheap shot at Mayers when Jamal was down. He not only held up but assisted Mayers in getting up so both could continue. Mayers threw two huge punches, both leaving him off kilter and Clowe landed one, then a couple more when Mayers went off balance for the second time.

No damage done. A "win" to Clowe by a slim margin (vs a draw). Mayers sure is energentic but not very good at fighting. Hard not to like (or at least respect) him for it.
