McLeod with a big hit. Johnston forces the issue. McLeod lands one shot in the visor before getting outclassed by Johnston. Big win for the Big fella. 6 Overall rating. It's tough to get a rating on this Johnston kid but, he does have decisive wins over both Tom Wilson and Cody McLeod. I don't think he'd be in the top tier but, I'd like to see him against some more middle/above middle tier talent.

McLeod is a gamer, but he's past his due date. Plus Johnston seems to be a big, nasty mutha.

If he ever develops into at least a semi-regular player, Johnston could become the top-ranked heavyweight. He's no Derek Boogaard, but he hurts people, and seems to enjoy doing that, and I think a lot of players are scared to fight him. I'd like to see him get tested against Reaves or Lucic.

All Johnston.

For everyone on here who didn't see the game, I will explain. The reason Mcleod didn't want to fight was because he was at the end of his shift and Johnston was fresh. It takes a lot of energy to fight, end of shift for heavyweights is not ideal. He also broke his left hand during the fight and still stayed in. Not bad. Win goes to Johnston but he outweighs him and is a lot bigger.

mcleod overpowered out matched

I’ll give McLeod credit for playing smart for once but he lost this one

I like to write comments before reading others, but I read Behn Wilsons he says it right.

Lol at anyone calling this a draw. It took 3 knocks for tough guy Mcleod to answer the door from Johnston (who generally does wayyyy less fighting). Got caught good and then hung on for dear life while Johnston manhandled him. Win Johnston

Posted by tacomania on November 21, 2018 at 09:32 PM

Cody was beaten soundly and was almost raped

Posted by jawhockey on November 23, 2018 at 10:06 AM

Johnston cleaned his clock.

Posted by Ullger88 on November 22, 2018 at 07:50 PM

Johnston with the beat down. Mcloed a wannabe tough guy. Fights every game but tries to run from Ross twice. Finally access and regrets it within 10 seconds. He gets Rocked by Johnston. Not even close . Johnston is not going to lose to many. Power puncher! Whoever said this was a draw or anything different didn’t watch the video or is a salty rangers fan.

He smacked McLeod good. I’m glad.

Posted by jcholmes on November 23, 2018 at 07:17 AM

Man those Rangers fall to the ice quickly. McLeod should have gotten an additional 2 minutes for being a pussy.

Posted by 29th_Candidate on November 21, 2018 at 09:14 PM

TKO or KO win - Johnston. Can't wait to see Rags homers try to call McCleod's beat down a bail.

Posted by TrueBlue16 on November 22, 2018 at 12:42 AM

Mcleod didn’t have to go here. Why risk injury which he did with his hand. Full marks tho.

Posted by Fencer on December 02, 2018 at 02:12 PM

Johnston rushes McLeod and smothers him before a they square off. Lots of shirt-grabbing with a one-hit decision.

Posted by bhamill on November 24, 2018 at 03:21 PM

Win for Johnston. McCleod Apparently had a broken hand going into that fight, as I saw nothing during it to break it, (and is now out indefinitely). Not Johnston’s fault, but hard to have any offense or even get grip like that.

Posted by Ethereal on November 23, 2018 at 12:36 PM

What the hell McLeod? Drop the gloves, what else do you bring to the line-up? You've got no useful skills with the puck. I mean Johnston doesn't either, but what the hell.

Posted by gsrae on November 21, 2018 at 09:32 PM

Johnson landed a big right and staggered McLeod. Johnson with the win and 5

Posted by tpr1960 on November 22, 2018 at 09:03 AM

Domination, finally. I see Cody's wife and mom voted too.

Posted by GreatMurray on November 22, 2018 at 12:02 PM

McLeod is a really tough customer. Early on they trade rights but Johnson's was a bomb that caught Cody flush...and the beat down was on. Hope they get to do this again...I think Cody can take measure of Johnson...but Johnson was a beast in this one.

Posted by xaulxan on November 22, 2018 at 08:39 PM

The only thing better than seeing a Bertuzzi get demolished is seeing McLeod get destroyed.

Posted by shockwave315 on November 22, 2018 at 09:21 AM

Johnston obliterated McLeod with a few solid rights to the noggin.

Posted by Joel19691 on November 22, 2018 at 02:27 PM

Not much here , McLeod didn’t want the bout but had no choice should of been an additional two to Johnston for instigating but can’t get them all. Rangers fan will take an L in the fight for a 5-0 win any day.

Posted by billywhack on November 27, 2018 at 01:25 PM

Johnstons first right pretty much KO's McLeod. The ole boy took a whoopin in this one. Johnston - clear winner

Posted by radron55 on November 23, 2018 at 12:28 PM

allright scrap

Posted by BooSanta on November 24, 2018 at 08:25 PM

Is Johnston one of the best? Maybe in the pantyshield age. Boogey, Larroque, Stache, Englaand, Huggy Bear Brashear, the Colt have all thrown harder, but Mclod likes a fight now and then, yet runs from this one, and when he's cornered, he gets creamed. Good win for RJ.

Posted by hughcares on November 22, 2018 at 08:29 AM

McClown does what he does best - lose! Nice job by Johnston. Shocked McClown is still in the leauge - but at least he is one of the few guys left who will drop him even though he always gets his lunch fed to him. Fitting he is on the shitty Rangers

Posted by woolly mammoth on November 22, 2018 at 03:11 PM

McLeod is wannabe bully, who paid the price for such an inflated ego, when someone of fighting quality would not let him just "skate away for another day," just like he has done with many players, whom he forced to be combatants.

Posted by asgardian89 on November 22, 2018 at 01:39 PM

Johnston proving to be a tough customer and landed a bomb off a right! TKO!

Posted by ironbar44 on November 23, 2018 at 08:36 PM

the thing with JOHNSTON he has what we called the killer factor training a fighter he tries to hurt you with every punch. he punches through not at.. McLeod didnt throw any left handed punches .he did not break his hand punching. beat down. zero punches by Mcleod who didnt want to go.completely out classed .give him props for answering the bell. i hope i never get a draw like he got in this fight ,to those who said it was a draw. hes beaten every one hes fought. the only guy be a match is REEVES .im not sure how McLeod hurt his left hand. i keep laughing at the he broke his hand punching.

Posted by Behn Wilson on November 22, 2018 at 07:34 AM

As an old school fighter who owes much of his unexpected longevity to an ever-diminishing talent pool... McLeod unfortunately runs into a throwback specimen that punches hard enough to make him seriously contemplate retirement No shame there Cody... it’s been a surprisingly long run

Posted by Flyers2019 on November 22, 2018 at 07:16 AM

Ross won’t take no for an answer. Guys, no joke, I once again am typing this while taking my morning doodle. Figured it would make sense to go before doing yoga so I don’t slip out any doodle farts. Some hot chicks there and don’t wanna embarrass myself. But Johnston obviously takes this one. Mcleod wasn’t lookin for this fight but had to do it anyway. Give it a 4. Maybe 3. *turd drops in the toilet*. Ahhhhh that was a nice one.

Posted by boldbilly on November 22, 2018 at 04:41 AM

Johnston takes this one easily he Catches Cody with a good one and he never recovered.... there should have been an instigator here but again Mcleod was totally outgunned here as Johnston’s size advantage proves to be too much..... win Johnston I scored it at 5 HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL

Posted by canamrugby on November 22, 2018 at 08:23 AM

McLeod proves himself to be like the Highlander, loses a ton of fights but won’t go away. How is he on an NHL roster? McLeod with the cheap hit on Johnston who decides to answer the bell and lands a couple of nice shots that hopefully will have the Highlander not returning from this one-sided battle.

Posted by Mounty in NC on November 22, 2018 at 02:57 AM

Not sure how Johnston doesn't get an instigator penalty as he came after McLeod twice. Johnston get's the win but McLeod doesn't even get a chance to get his right glove off. Johnston and a 2 (for not giving McLeod a chance to get ready)

Posted by nirvana on November 21, 2018 at 09:06 PM

Shit fight because McLeod broke his hand when he threw his first punch and fuck you bumson (nothing more than a hugging match shit fight and a draw) Nice visor mr 6’5 tough guy

Posted by 99ryman on November 23, 2018 at 05:42 PM

I could not tell but I think Mcleod lost some teeth in the fight.

Posted by 25yearsNoCup on November 21, 2018 at 09:20 PM

McLeod is a goon

Posted by bigmike53 on November 22, 2018 at 01:38 AM

Johnston is a big angry mother. That first punch really hurt McLeod and he never fully recovered. KD/Possible TKO win for Johnston.

Posted by mr. puttzo on November 21, 2018 at 11:28 PM

No contest...McLeod never got off a punch

Posted by the kid 61 on November 23, 2018 at 08:19 AM

Poor cody, he picked a fight with the wrong guy. No wonder they scratch matt martin, this kid is tuff.
