Grapplefest 2015. If I was forced to call a winner it would probably be Stewart. But I'm not, so it's a draw.

Draw. A little disappointing from a Wild fan's standpoint as it somewhat appeared two former teammates and off ice friends were going through the motions at least at first. McLeod has run roughshod through the soft Wild roster for years with no payback and Stewart failed to deliver a good clobberin' we were hoping for. Cody scored a goal in a 3-1 Avs win as well so it was a good day for the veteran agitator.

Staged fight , no one trying to do damage

Posted by Marchese_Dave on August 16, 2015 at 08:29 PM

Both landed around the same amount of hits, but McLeods were all small jabs and Stewarts were all slow motion. Definite draw.

stewart tries to make forget about embarrassment they experienced agains mcleod a week ago after he was traded to minnesota couple days ago...stewart was more active but not so accurate and mcleod fought with caution...draw i guess or maybe edge stewart between these 2 ex-teammates

Pretty even match here McLeod early and Stewart comes on later....I went draw and scored it a 5.. difficult to pick a winner

This nice fight in the beginning of the first period a great stage setter.... For absolutely nothing... Kind of a let down but, in a close game in a heated playoff race the 2 points come before exacting personal vendettas. I watched this a few times and I wasn't able to tell who won can be argued both ways but, I decided on a draw. Draw & 5 Props to both guys for realizing that this "had" to be done.

Woulda expected a little more damage on this one .. Draw 5

Posted by bigmike53 on March 08, 2015 at 08:17 PM

Two guys with heart decide to settle things like men. Lots of grappling and both guys land a few. Draw. I miss Stewie already.

Posted by dcmac on March 09, 2015 at 09:48 PM

Lots of bad intent little landed.

Posted by doobi1 on March 09, 2015 at 11:57 PM

Great fight. However, both had their moments but no one really fared better than the other. r. Mc.Leod is all balls in this year, and Stewart did a nice job of hanging in until they both decided to call it a draw. DRAW. Nice scrap.

Excellent draw!!! My beloved bruins were stupid not to go get stewart.

Conner (oops) McLeod pulls his Broad Sword to defend his mate one more time...He is met by one of the dark knights from the Clan Stewart on the field of battle. Clan McLeod of Skye wins this one by the thinnest of margins because of the more solid shots and they both head for the armory for 5 minutes to contemplate the next battle. Twi true Hockey Warriors. Awesome! Excellent fight...both guys. McLeod and 7

McLeod for sure

Posted by gogrg on March 09, 2015 at 11:12 AM

They finally both get a hand free and call it quits, what a disappointment

Posted by dilligaf4 on March 10, 2015 at 08:40 AM

It had the feeling of a staged fight (which it was). In addition, both guys did not throw their best. Lame

Posted by solomoonfry on March 08, 2015 at 08:55 PM

It was pretty even until Stewart got his left arm loose at the end and was able to land a few (including the upper cut)

Posted by georgecostansa on March 09, 2015 at 01:17 AM

From Reusse of the Star Tribune: “I played with him for three or four years. … He’s a good buddy of mine,” McLeod said. “He was doing his job, and I was doing mine." Did Stewart throw the fight? Did he win anyways?

Don't even drop the gloves if you're not going to make a real effort. Non fight!

Posted by scottiebaldwin on March 18, 2015 at 01:47 AM

Hey King of Goons, I suppose that cut over McLeod's right eye didn't mean anything, huh? You'd better take another look. Watch the fight from both players perspective and you'll see that no one dominated but Stewart rag-dolled McLoed most of the fight. Stewart wins. How's the weather there in Denver? :-)

Posted by nait on March 09, 2015 at 05:10 PM

I've come to like Colorado games just to watch McLeod get punched in the face

Posted by BlackandBlues on March 08, 2015 at 11:41 PM

Close fight but Stewart was rag dolling Cody a bit and landed a few more.

Posted by tkidu on March 08, 2015 at 09:55 PM

Really guys? Stewart with the W

Posted by rocky 1 on March 12, 2015 at 01:59 AM

Stewart got to McLeod and actually let him off the hook at the end.Friends I guess!

Posted by wildpuckster1 on March 09, 2015 at 09:56 AM

Stewart wins at the end. Almost a Gordy Howe hat trick for both of them.

Posted by Big Daddy D on March 13, 2015 at 11:50 AM

Stewart steals it late with some shots including a nice sneaky left uppercut and for continuing to fight through the clutch

Posted by SilverSliver on March 08, 2015 at 10:12 PM

Very close bout. McLeod at the start, Stewart at the middle and end. Slight edge to Stewart. I think they both figured it was expected for Them to fight but they are fairly friendly off the ice so I don't think their hearts were really in it.

Posted by callum on March 10, 2015 at 06:21 PM

Good guys, good fight. Pretty even tilt between two pros. Edge Stewart

Win Stewart. First loss by McLeod in a bit.

Posted by treblecharger on March 11, 2015 at 03:20 AM

Decent tilt by two warriors! Slight edge to Stewy.

Posted by lucic17 on March 08, 2015 at 11:54 PM

More technical skill than passionate boxing. A few good shots sprinkled in here and there made the fight worthwhile. Maybe they know each other too well? Bruins could have used Stewart.

Posted by kkdowning on March 09, 2015 at 09:44 AM

Payback for the last game. If the Wild had not traded for Stewart, who would have stepped up? Give Stewart the win for those lefts, but it was close

Posted by pvdrummer2000 on March 09, 2015 at 01:12 AM

Love Stewart, he is a class act! The Sabres made a huge mistake trading him. Great guy on the ice and a great guy in the locker room for a team that is rebuilding. No wonder they always come up short, they have a way of getting rid of good character players. Anyways, Stew with the win.

The Toothless Goon looked like he needed a diaper change after this one ...

Posted by King of Goons on March 08, 2015 at 10:48 PM

I know Stewart is a much better fighter than McLeod, and would beat him 9 out of 10 times, ...but this was the one time he didn't. Stewart lands nothing that did any damage, and McLeod hit Stewart several times squarely in the face. Surprisingly, McLeod wins, by virtue of the better shots landed. Watch the fight guys. We can't keep voting on reputation alone. Give credit where it's due.

Did McLeod forget how to draw a fight? Wait until your opponent is 50 seconds into his shift then "stage" the fight you know is coming to you at some point. Stewart held his own, would have been really interesting had they both been fresh when it went down.
