Igor Makarov vs Mikhail Grigoriev

@offsides........I'm guessing from your comments your'e related to Makarov?

I've never seen 2 Russians square off North American-style like this over in the KHL (usually we're lucky just to get all 4 gloves removed by the time a "fight" is over).

A hell of a fight for KHL standards, ending in a brutal TKO victory for Grigoriev.

IMHO this would never happen in NHL. Once Grigoriev had jersey over his head linesmen would step in and break the action.

pretty damn good scrap. The league seems very unorganized, and how about the refs just letting the guy keep falling down.

WOW! This is a great fight, especially coming out of the KHL. All that time Grigoriev was inside his jersey taking blows, when he came out it was BOOM BOOM out go the lights for Makarov! And was Grigoriev taunting from the box? Showing them his widdle ouchie? Anyway: The fans loved it, I loved it, gimme more! G gets the W.

As was said in an earlier comment, this fight would never have reached this stage in the NHL as it would have been stopped when the jersey was pulled over the guy's head.

I thought the M guy had the win, then he got KOed. Wow

Makarov was dominating until they went down to the ice. I can see why Grigoriev would break code and sneak a heavy one in after eating all those punches but I'm not convinced his punch is what made Makarov so whoozy at the end. I'm wondering if he got kicked in the head by the skate of the referee who flew over him. It's hard to tell but I would love to see that fight from another angle.
