Fat chicks with low self esteem are always an easy lay.

Simmonds first non win of the year. Martin landed 1 good punch. Homer announcers make it an issue. Martin with a chuck and lucky duck.

Good for Simmonds for coming to the aid of his team mate, I always like to see that, however he may want to come with more mojo next time he got hammered by a much better,, and tougher fighter in Martin.

hit simmonds in the face a few more times for everyone else in hockey. crap player and worse fighter

Martin's right cross - right cross - uppercut combo turned Simmonds into a bobblehead. Not sure what some of the reviewers were watching, but those were three great shots. That deserved a standing 8 count. Martin wanted to go with Lilja later in the game but he wasn't having it. Too bad the Isles didn't wake up till 13:00 into the 3rd.

Simmy looked a little pale after that pummeling.

i dont know where is so many votes for martin coming from.nobody really landed anything...draw and 4

The Waynester bit off more than he could chew. If I can make a suggestion to Paul Holmgren, assuming he or someone working for him reads hockeyfights.com, it would be to pick up Derek Dorsett from the BJ's this summer. The Flyers need a grinder like Dorsett to take on the Prusts and other light heavyweights while not skating like a slug on the fourth line (re: Jody Shelley). Dorsett has 10 goals this season and that's some nice offense from a guy who wasn't even drafted.

Martin got him. Even though Simmonds lost he still was having fun with it. in the box. Not much gas left in both the guy's tanks.

This time, his mutant reach wasn't a factor, as Simmonds gets tagged by the energetic, yet, erratic, ''hit, and miss'' approach of a guy, who, along with Ryan White, needs to change barbers, yesterday.

martin gets the win.

Win Martin. They both ate a couple, but those two solid ones from Martin put the quit in Simmons quickly.

Fairly close bout but Martin landed a few better ones

I love to see simmonds get his butt kicked. Friendly fight.

You've got to like the all around game of Simmons even if he was on the wrong end of this bout.

Posted by scorp1on on March 16, 2012 at 02:33 AM

Pretty even affair until Martin's over/under sealed the deal. Simmonds realized he didn't have enough gas left in the tank to get out of Martin's arm-lock, honorably admitted defeat, and called for the zebras.

Win Martin!

Posted by fernben8 on March 17, 2012 at 12:46 AM

Giving edge to Martin for landing the only decent rights... Smart grip placement by Matt to neutralize Waynes right and reach. Good effort by both.

Posted by GreatMurray on March 16, 2012 at 06:28 AM

Jerseys jabs versus an upper cut....even Simmonds says "you got me". At least they were having fun! Martin might have had more fun.

kneebuckler uppercut by martin

Posted by RogerNYLA on March 16, 2012 at 01:58 AM

The fight was pretty even until Martin landed a good overhand right that seemed to stun Simmonds. He followed that with a good uppercut and that was pretty much it.

Posted by graynor1 on March 16, 2012 at 10:10 AM

kudos to simmonds for sticking up for his teamate. It was good to see they can laugh about it, nothing personal. martin with the win

Posted by chad420 on March 16, 2012 at 12:18 PM

M&M draws with Richard Simmonds in a pretty good bout

Posted by SouthPaw017 on March 16, 2012 at 02:13 AM

Decent fight, would have liked to see it go longer, edge to Martin.

Martin landed the better blows for the win

Posted by Big_Fat_Dan on March 21, 2012 at 05:12 AM

Nice flurry there by Martin.

Posted by kkdowning on March 16, 2012 at 11:22 AM

All Martin here.

Posted by WickedMonstah on March 16, 2012 at 11:41 AM

Simmons needs to send his helmet flowers and chocolates, because it saved him from a nasty concussion. Martin with a monstah shot to Simmond's temple wins a decisive decision.

Posted by pvdrummer2000 on March 10, 2015 at 11:14 PM

Started off pretty close until Martin landed a bomb that hurt Simmonds. Class act to stop swinging once MM decked WS.

Martin with the W.

Posted by IMPEACH on March 16, 2012 at 11:16 AM

Simmons landed the best punch early on. Not really much landing squarely here.
