One of the young-pup, Sabre ''call-ups'' slash ''re-enforcements''...
responds, honourably, to someone taking a run at a team mate.
Speaking of which, great hit, but Dude...
did you really have to jump to hit a guy, who's barley, four feet tall?

Good anger, and a decent showing by both guys,
but the real winner, in this case, is Buffalo's team morale.

Still, if he's going to play this role for the Sabres...
unless there's some injury related reason for it...
Kassian should have left his visor in the minors.

Good NHL start for Kassian as he could have announced for mayor of Buffalo given the crowd reaction. The bout was a draw though MM's punches were deflecting off Kassian's receding hairline while Kassian was hitting helmet.

Lots of punches, but it looked like most were off Martin's helmet or Kassian's bald spot. Have trouble seeing an average of 7.9, not a classic by any means.

draw -- that seemed like a 5th grade school yard fight -- close your eyes and swing

Good intentions in giving the toe-to-toe a go.
I feel they had their head down too much (and too long), you can't hit what you can't see.
Decent attempt but it just seemed to lack something...
Gave it a 5.

I strongly doubt either guys landed a punch, but it was still fun to watch. Had to give it a draw.

Martin looks to have tired about 66% of the way through the fight. Slight edge to Kassian for durability.

Swinging and not much connecting draw.

Even match. It looks like nothing connected and no damage was done. I'm giving it to Kassian since Martin appeared to stop the fight and call the refs in at the end because he was either tired or didn't like Kassian getting loose of his jersey.

Kassian does a great Rob Ray impersonation.

Speaking of which, why didnt he get a game misconduct for having his jersey removed?

I'm pretty sure Martin quit only because he had nothing to hang onto. A grip on the opponent is essential & don't blame him for protecting the jaw...

That left me wanting more. What was Martin doing at the end there? Was he scared to let Kassian go or what? Have to give the edge to the guy who would have kept chucking 'em.
