After the refs fail to side with the plaintif,
concerning a borderline, boarding case...
Winnik, impressively, goes ''self-defence'',
and, angrily, rips off his own helmet,
mid- way through an eventual loss,
to a larger, yet, ''kinda sluggish'', opponent.

I believe that was Winnik's measured response to the hit from Falk and it didn't have the effect he was looking for.

I think Winnik has every reason to be pissed off....
I also feel one of his teamates should have stepped in for him as well
(hey, fights have started for much less than that).
Yes Daniel...give the refs a going and your teamates too !

He may have lost, but I respect that he decided to handle things himself.

Falk knew what he did, too bad the refs didn't.

I just gotta ask, is Winnick such a jerk in the locker room that no one has his back? How is it that Brad Stuart gets jumped by punk a$$ Stewart for a good, clean hard hit, but no one on the Avs will step up for one of their own getting checked face first to the boards? The biggest loser of the fight was the rest of the Avs team, what a bunch of wussies!

Hit was nothing, close even fight. I call it a draw

Don't like the hit from behind - but you can tell Falk expected a penalty after that. He's a big kid and obviously can stick up for himself. Clear win for Falk.

Winnik with a Toe Pick that leads to him attacking Falk. Just man up, Winnik, and accept responsibility for your own inability to skate properly. The Wild learned that it is their fault for going head first into the boards when they toe pick, you need to learn that too.

Falk connected with the most punches, Winnik threw maybe 2 and only hit with 1 before trying to drag Falk to the ice. Falk kept his balance and threw Winnik to the ice instead. Would have preferred to see Falk just punch him down.

I guess this is sending a message to players. Don't fight Falk. Choose someone smaller. Like Spurgeon.

Big embellishment by Winnik laying on the ice trying to draw a penalty. Then he gets a beatdown from Falk. bad night for Winny the Pooh.
