Although, I totally get Jones's retalliation reaction,
especially, after signaling for a fair catch,
(unfortunately, they weren't playing football),
and getting embarrassed, and pasted for his efforts...
but I think that it was the reknowned poet, Floyd Mayweather,
who once said...''protect yourself, at all times''.

Falk made the fair catch sign and Jones proceeded to hit him high. I don't blame Falk for being pissed off.

If only 1 guy punches, I am not sure it is a fight

LOL...Justin thinking of going all the way on the punt return, only to get Falked on the no yards penalty.

Hey...if you're more concerned about doing some hang time, you're fair game buddy ! Nice hit.

He beat the Falk out of him

I might take some heat for this...but this is the type of retaliatory fight the league needs to crack down on...I mean, if Falk is going to stand in traffic and reach way up to play the puck, leaving himself with his weight high and his feet together, he's going to get cranked. Jones has to make the hit...and it looked clean enough to me. Getting attacked afterward shouldn't be part of the game. Man up & take a hit....

(Was the hit high? Well with Falk on his tip-toes, I don't think so. Jones was arguably going for the body. He could have taken him out at the knees...now that would have been dirty..

Eh... that hit looked worse than it was and the "fight" was less than expected...

not that every good hit should result in a fight, but it's not a bad way for the game to police itself. basically saying, "hit me like that again and i'm gonna jump you and pound you."

jones might think twice about laying out a guy in that situation again. right or wrong, can't blame falk for sticking up for himself. and maybe he'll think twice about keeping both eyes on a sky puck.

also, jones had just gotten popped back in his own end and obviously saw karma at the wild blue line. too bad karma punched him in the head a few times.

If you watch closely...he left his feet....last time I checked thats illegal. Falk only because Jones didn't throw anything but his shoulder during the hit.

Open ice hits are great for the game. Leaving your feet and hitting high, not so good. Falk takes exception, especially with the Wild having 3 guys out with concussions, and Mr Jones get's what he deserves.

Koolpunch, do you realize what you even said at the end of our post? Falk is already 6' 5".......He dosent need to be on his 'tip toes'. Jones left his feet and hit him high, he had to leave his feet, he's 3 inches shorter than Falk...

Watch the slo mo replay at :46, he launches himself.....nuff said.

Man, Falk is a cheap b**** for punching another player while he's on the ground. Have some respect for the game.
