Fail on the attempted hit...
not to mention, most of the attempted fight...
and, despite a decent effort by both guys,
things just never really got going.

Simmonds trying to give his comatose Flyers teammates a boost at the end of a rather lackluster second period. The Flyers are probably skating death drills in a darkened arena this morning as I type this.

Long, uneventful fight.

I have to give a slight edge to Simmonds. What was the announcer talking about a jab from Jackman when Simmonds landed a (glancing) right?

It started out like a high school - slow dance.
I feel Jackman was better off staying in close to Simmonds,
Once they both extended their arms, it became advantage Simmonds,
It was just a matter of time...
Win Simmonds by the last 2 punches.

Simmonds' arms are quite long.

The Tape Worm of Death landed the best punches.

Didn't look that damaging. Must have caught him near the eye or something or maybe it was fatigue and bad positioning because Jackman definitely bailed out there. Up till then was a tactical defensive battle with a couple landed each.

I give that one to Jackman since he is not a regular fighter and he was active throughout.
Note to the announcer: the "jersey jab" might have been made famous by Cam Janssen in St. Louis. but it was created in modern era by Jody Shelley. Once he started doing it, they all filed in.

Jackman tried everything to overcome the reach, but couldn't. Edge Simmonds.

Simmonds second fight as a Flyer is about equal.
