Shelley takes out Tom Gilbert with a hit near the Edmonton net, prompting Roy to drop his gloves and immediately go after Shelley. They grab ahold of each other and Shelley starts the fight off with a right. Shelley throws two more rights that knock Roy's helmet off. They exchange some rights to the side and back of each other's head. Roy switches hands and throws a left with Shelley coming back in the form of two rights. Shelley then slams Roy to the ice and the linesmen are right there to grab them and end the fight. Other Penalties: Roy received an instigator and misconduct.

Fedoruk shoves Ray Whitney down to the ice and Gleason challenges him after the whistle blows to stop play. The two drop the gloves and square off at center ice. They grab ahold of one another and Gleason quickly gets in two rights. Gleason throws a quick left jab, straight right combination to follow that up. Gleason continues to go with jersey-jabs mixed in with a right and Fedoruk throws a left during the exchange. Fedoruk throws a right hook and Gleason answers with two more rights that knock Fedoruk's helmet off. Gleason then throws a flurry of five unanswered rights with two of them connecting while Fedoruk tries to move away from the shots. Gleason is then able to wrestle Fedoruk down to the ice and the linesmen are right there to intervene. Other Penalties: Fedoruk received a hooking.

Right off of the faceoff, Mair cross-checks Jason Spezza three times, trying to get him to drop the gloves. Mair continues to chase after Spezza and finally gets ahold of him. Spezza goes to the ground and everyone piles in. Volchenkov grabs Mair from behind and prevents him from doing anything else to Spezza. The continue to wrestle around in the pile until they are eventually separated by the linesmen. Other Penalties: Mair receievd an instigator and misconduct; Patrick Kaleta and Chris Phillips each received a misconduct.

The two goalies decide to go at it among the rest of the chaos, each shedding their gloves, blockers, and masks and meeting at center ice. They grab ahold of each other and Emery throws five straight rights while Biron is trying to move away from the punches and eventually falls to the ice. Emery pins Biron on the ice and then eventually lets him up only to get tripped to the ice himself by Biron. Emery gets back to his feet and the two skate away from each other. Peters spots Emery over near the side boards afterwards and skates towards him with a mean look on his face. Peters grabs Emery and throws a right to start things off. One of the linesmen tries to grab Peters, but quickly decides to let them continue. Peters throws another right and Emery attempts a short right of his own. Peters connects with three straight rights to the side of Emery's head and Emery again just throws a weak right that comes up short. They exchange rights and Peters pushes Emery towards the side boards while Emery is smiling and laughing. Peters connects with another right, but the linesmen and one of the referees are right there to break things up. Other Penalties: Peters received an instigator, roughing and game misconduct.

Chris Drury shoots the puck towards the Ottawa net and Neil nails him with a hit while he isn't looking. Drury falls to the ice and lays there with blood dripping from his forehead. Stafford quickly skates back and goes after Neil with the two pushing and shoving. They drop their gloves and Neil throws a right at a bent over Stafford. Neil throws another one after that and the two then spin to the ice. Stafford has his jersey up and over his head. The linesmen immediately come in and separate them. Drury is eventually taken back to the dressing room after a few minutes.

Orr skates over to Janssen and they get tangled up leading to them dropping the gloves. They grab ahold of one another and glide out to center ice. Orr throws six straight rights to start things off with a few of them connecting. Janssen comes back with a right and Orr returns fire with another flurry that includes a few rights, some body shots, and an uppercut while Janssen is trying to shake his elbow pad off and unwind the right sleeve of his jersey. Janssen throws another right in response and once again it's Orr going on the offensive, throwing five more rights and shaking his elbow pad off during the series. The two then go back and forth with rights for a while. Janssen misses with a right and that allows Orr to connect with a straight left that sends Janssen straight to the ice. Janssen drags Orr down with him and the linesmen are quick to jump on top of them and break things up. Other Penalties: Rafalski received a delay of game penalty.

Fedoruk and Peters find each other behind the play and have a little discussion before deciding to drop the gloves. They grab ahold of each other and grapple for a short moment until Fedoruk attempts a locked-out right. Peters answers with two rights to the side of Fedoruk's helmet. Fedoruk gets Peters in a semi-headlock and Peters takes advantage of the situation, connecting with a body shot. They then wrestle around, each attempting a few short shots during the struggle. Peters is able to throw a straight right and Fedoruk responds with a left. Peters is able to get Fedoruk's helmet partially off and then lands five straight rights to the side of his head. Peters tries to throw Fedoruk to the ice, but Fedoruk is able to stay on his feet and throws a right followed by a left hook that misses. They then decide to just hold on until the linesmen are ready to come in and end the fight.

Umberger and Campbell start shoving at center ice before they decide to drop the gloves. Umberger starts things off with two rights followed by two uppercuts while Campbell is bent over. Campbell comes back with two overhand rights and Umberger is quick to answer with a left jab followed by a left hook that Campbell is able to duck under. Campbell tries to push Umberger off-balance, but Umberger goes down to his knees for just a moment. Umberger gets back up to his feet and throws another right. Umberger nearly loses his balance, but is able to stay on his feet. Campbell switches hands and throws a left cross. Umberger returns fire with two uppercuts and then pulls Campbells jersey up and over his head while he is bent over. The linesmen decide to intervene and then grab them, quickly ending the fight. Other Penalties: Umberger received an instigator and misconduct.

Right after the puck drops for the faceoff, they shed their gloves and helmets. Richards glides towards Mara and they end up squaring off at the blueline before grabbing ahold of each other. Mara starts things off with three straight rights. Richards returns fire with a right of his own just as they go into the side boards. Mara continues to go with the right, throwing two more and causing Richards to come back with a pair of overhand rights in response. Mara then switches strategies, connecting with three body shots. Richards is able to push Mara off-balance for a moment and they wrestle around for a short moment. Richards gets loose and connects with a right, following that up with a flurry of short overhand rights while Mara is bent over. Mara pushes Richards up against the glass and gets in a right. Mara throws some more rights with Richards responding with two of his own during the series. They eventually stop throwing and allow the linesmen to intervene and end the fight.

Lapointe and Hollweg run into each other near the side boards and proceed to drop the gloves. They grab onto each other and Lapointe gets in a right that Hollweg counters with a couple of short lefts. Lapointe throws a few rabbit punches to the back of Hollweg's head and they then go toe-to-toe with rapid fire punches: Hollweg with lefts, Lapointe with rights. Lapointe lands two rights to the back of Hollweg's head once Hollweg stops throwing. Hollweg goes down to his knees, but quickly stands back up. Lapointe then throws a flurry of nine straight rights with about three of them landing and the rest hitting helmet or just missing. Lapointe connects with another right cross and the redness around Hollweg's left eye begins to worsen. Lapointe continues to connect with rights to Hollweg's helmet while Hollweg struggles to get loose. Hollweg attempts a locked-out right and Lapointe gets in yet another right hand just before Hollweg is able to shake his elbow pad off. Hollweg attempts another locked-out right and Lapointe just wrestles him to the ice with the linesmen intervening shortly after they hit the ice.

McLaren hip checks Niklas Hagman, sending his head smashing into the side boards. Barch takes exception and quickly goes after McLaren with the two dropping their gloves at center ice. They grab ahold of each other and McLaren throws two long rights just before Barch spins to his knees. McLaren gets in two more rights while Barch is knelt down. Barch stands back up and blocks another right with his forearm. Barch throws a right that just misses and then switches hands, throwing a right. Barch shakes off his elbow pad and throws an uppercut. McLaren then drives him into the boards and the linesmen are right there to intervene and break things up.
