Boyes skates over to Lydman and gives him a shot, prompting a shoving match between the two. One of the linesman tries to break things up, but they end up grabbing ahold of one another and dropping the gloves. Boyes starts things off with three rights and Lydman returns fire with three rights of his own during the flurry. They then go toe-to-toe with rights. Lydman stops throwing and Boyes continues to throw a mix of rights, uppercuts, and body shots. Boyes gets Lydman's helmet off and his jersey up and over his head, and follows that up with a few rights to the side and top of Lydman's head. Lydman throws two blind rights and Boyes comes back with one of his own before they stop throwing and allow the linesmen to come on in. Lydman skated away with a cut over his left eye.

Shortly after the faceoff Barch shoves Clowe while he is trying to skate down ice and the two quickly drop their gloves, grabbing ahold of one another in the process. Barch throws a short right and connects with a left cross to start things off. Clowe returns fire with two rights and Barch responds with a left. They then go toe-to-toe with a few pauses in between: Barch stays with the left; Clowe goes with the right. Clowe ends the exchange by wrestling Barch to the ice. The linesmen then quickly skate on in and break things up.

Ponikarovsky collides knee-on-knee with Rod Brind'amour, sending Brind'amour to the ice clutching his knee. Tanabe quickly goes after Ponikarovsky and the two drop the gloves. They grab ahold of each other and spin around while Ponikarovsky throws some rights. Ponikarovsky blocks a right from Tanabe and responds with a right of his own. Tanabe connects with a hard right and Ponikarovsky blocks another shot before wrestling Tanabe to the ice. The linesmen come in shortly after and end the fight.

Right off of the faceoff the two drop the gloves and square off near the side boards. They grab ahold of each other, but Fedoruk loses his balance and falls just as Roy is throwing two rights. The linesmen then quickly jump on top and break things up, sending each one to their respective penalty box.

Brad Stuart levels Nathan Paetsch with a check along the boards, prompting Mair to take a run at Stuart. Primeau comes off of the bench and goes directly after Mair, running into him and challenging him. They exchange a few words and then decide to quickly drop the gloves. They grab ahold of each other and Mair immediately starts throwing lefts, landing five straight shots while Primeau ducks down and tries to get set up. Primeau returns fire with a flurry of four rights that Mair is able to avoid for the most part. Mair lands two overhand rights to the back of Primeau's head while they spin around and go down to their knees. Primeau then wrestles Mair to the ice and cocks back his right hand, but the linesmen are right there to end the fight.

Ott hits Andy McDonald along the benches and DiPenta challenges Ott in defense of his teammate. They drop the gloves and square off inside of the blueline. They grab ahold of each other and DiPenta immediately throws three rights, knocking Ott's helmet off and sending him falling to his knees. Ott quickly gets back to his feet, but the linesmen are right there to end the fight.

Corey Perry and Steve Ott start a scrum just as the horn sounds to end the first period. Away from the pile, Barch and Pronger are tied up and Barch continually tries to get Pronger to drop the gloves while a linesmen tries to separate them. Finally Pronger decides to accept the challenge and drops his gloves, quickly throwing three rights while Barch ducks away from the shots. Pronger then wrestles Barch to the ice and the linesman jumps on top of the two, getting them sent on their separate ways rather easily. Other Penalties: Barch received a game misconduct; Steve Ott a double roughing; Corey Perry a roughing.

Barch slashes O'Brien's stick, knocking it out of his hands and O'Brien skates over to Barch right after the whistle blows to halt play. They drop the gloves and immediately grab ahold of one another. They each throw an overhand right while spinning around. O'Brien lands a short right inside, knocking O'Brien partially off-balance and preventing him from connecting with a right. O'Brien throws two more rights and Barch adds one of his own just before they lose their balance and fall to the ice. Other Penalties: Barch received a slashing.

Petrovicky steps off of the bench during a line change and Gratton goes right after him in retaliation for some remarks Petrovicky made to the Phoenix bench. Gratton drops his gloves, spins Petrovicky to the ice, and starts feeding him rights while he is down. Dominic Moore jumps on top of Gratton and everyone piles in, including the linesmen. Petrovicky throws two rights from the bottom with one connecting while a linesmen has Gratton in a partial headlock. Eventually everyone starts getting off of each other and skates away, allowing the linesmen to restore order. Other Penalties: Gratton received an instigator, misconduct and game misconduct; Petrovicky a roughing. Ron Petrovicky did not receive a fighting major.

Jovanovski crushes Alain Nasreddine into the boards with a heavy hit, prompting Orpik to skate over and challenge Jovanovski. The two drop the gloves and lock horns. They struggle to get free and Jovanovski connects with a body shot during the grappling session. Jovanovski lands a short right and throws two uppercuts while Orpik is bent over. Orpik connects with two short rights, but they then decide to hold on and wait until the linesmen are ready to intervene. Other Penalties: Orpik received a roughing.

A scrum develops behind the Stars' net as Ruutu and Robidas get in each other's face. Robidas shoves Ruutu a couple of times while they skate into the side boards with Krys Barch trying to get to Ruutu, but being blocked by a linesman. They get some space away from everybody and Ruutu throws four consecutive rights while Robidas tries to get his right hand free. Ruutu connects with a short right and pauses just before connecting with three more rights. Robidas throws a right in response, but Ruutu connects witih one at the same time, sending Robidas to the ice. Ruutu falls on top of him and the linesmen quickly jump on top to break things up.

The two line up next to each other on the faceoff and right after the puck drops they quickly shed the sticks and gloves. They grab ahold of one another and Boogaard starts things off with a right cross. They go back and forth with rights and Boogaard switches things up, connecting with a body shot. They exchange some more rights until Godard switches hands and connects with two lefts that knock Boogaard's helmet off. They go back and forth once more with a mix of jabs and hard rights. Boogaard then gets Godard's jersey over his head and connects with a right. They lose their balance and fall to the ice. Boogaard gets in two rights while they are down and the linesmen are quick to get in there and prevent anything else from happening.

Right off of the faceoff the two drop the gloves and square off at center ice. They grab ahold of each other and Shelley throws two rights followed by a series of rapid fire jersey-jabs. They go back and forth with rights as they come up next to the benches. Shelley throws a few more jersey-jabs while Peters ducks down. Shelley throws a right that knocks him off-balance, allowing Peters to throw two rights. They each get in a short right and then fall to the ice with Peters throwing a right as they go down. The linesmen then quickly jump on top of them and break things up.

Behind the play the two grab each other and quickly toss the sticks and gloves aside. They start things off by exchanging a few rights and body shots while each one tries to get set up. Walker connects with three rights to the back of Clark's head. Clark returns fire with a whipping right of his own and Walker lands another one to the back of Clark's head. Clark then goes inside with an uppercut that just misses the target. Walker continues to throw rights to the back of Clark's head, eventually knocking his helmet off. Clark comes back with a right during the flurry and Walker keeps on throwing rights to the back of Clark until the linesmen step in and end the fight.
