Feb 18, 2007 San Jose Sharks Kyle McLaren
1pd 14:35 Dallas Stars Krys Barch
McLaren hip checks Niklas Hagman, sending his head smashing into the side boards. Barch takes exception and quickly goes after McLaren with the two dropping their gloves at center ice. They grab ahold of each other and McLaren throws two long rights just before Barch spins to his knees. McLaren gets in two more rights while Barch is knelt down. Barch stands back up and blocks another right with his forearm. Barch throws a right that just misses and then switches hands, throwing a right. Barch shakes off his elbow pad and throws an uppercut. McLaren then drives him into the boards and the linesmen are right there to intervene and break things up.

Barch seems to be the new Matt Barnaby , but he is a good teammate for the Dallas team .

Solid battle here.
McLaren did well early on, landing few big shots.
Barch cameback but failed to land anything good in my book, maybe one late-uppercut but hits to the body of McLaren though.
EDGE/NARROW WIN K.McLaren

Mclaren who used to be a pretty good fighter when he chose may rate an edge here over the scrappy, willing Barch. The clip makes it hard to tell. Barch may have thrown more and Mclaren may have landed better early before the clip begins in focus etc.

Give McLaren the decision for landing a few more.

Im sick of Barch already. He seems to take on all commers, but he doesnt have the size or skillz to back it up. As much as I hate Barnaby, at least he lands a punch occasionally.

It's apparent here that McLaren used his 6'4" 230 lb. size to his advantage.
McLaren controlled the fight...

boring fight, ended to quick, to much skating not enough punching.

McLaren had 2 major punches in the beginning of the fight to started it off. He was wise and used the boards to his advantage. Stupidty played a role in this fight because if you look a Shark checked a Shark onto a Star which of course didn't like that and hit the offending player.

Barch with the nod, off balance at first but good throws to follow. Especially, given the size difference of the two!

Barch has gotta be the worse heavy-weight in the league. has he ever won a fight in the NHL? He isn't doing his job in Dallas. If I were GM I would give him 5 more games to prove that he can police for the Stars or I would send him packing back to the AHL!! It's that simple. His best chance is going to be to get revenge on his fights against the Ducks. Let George "The Stache" Parros or another Duck heavyweight take him on during his first or second shift. Did Barch not take on a few Ducks earlier in the year?!?!

mclaren throws a big hit, barch challenges him, mclaren lands some lefts and knocks down barch, barch gets up and throws some that don't connect, mclaren pushes him against the bench
