Orr wins this one... Good start for BGL, but better finish for Colton...

Posted by DMM on January 15, 2008 at 11:40 AM

Come on guys!! Who won the fight , Orr won the fight, 2 rights at the end dropped Laraque. Who landed more puches, yes Laraque. That doesn't mean he won the fight...wake up. Hey, larague-iz-bad, watch it again...2 "clean" rights at the end dropped him big time.

Posted by BattleAxe13 on January 15, 2008 at 05:07 PM

Georges lost his balance and the 2 maybe 3 that Orr landed were body and shoulder pads. Laraque looked like he landed 7 to the head and face so yeah that would pretty much mean a W for BGL. I do agree that Orr is a great fighter and has ballz for taking on Laraque. And to the idiot who said that the Pens suck, um look at the standings. Don't be childish, Rangers are on their typical downfall and you're upset, well go cry about it elsewhere.

Posted by Philly_fighters on January 15, 2008 at 11:31 AM

I would say Orr held his own against Laraque Draw

Posted by IMPEACH on January 16, 2008 at 09:38 AM

How could anyone vote for Orr here?!?!?!? How many Rangers fans are in this forum?!?!?! This wasn't even close. Laraque fell because he can't skate, not because of anything Orr did.

Posted by smash1 on January 15, 2008 at 02:43 PM

I gave it a draw. had laraque knocked down orr with aquestionable shot everybody would make it a big deal.Orr did a nice job regaining his balance.Laraque has no interest in standing and trading he uses his strength to keep guys off balance.thats why I think he is overated

Posted by shack on January 15, 2008 at 01:21 AM

Even fight I say. Laraque started well, but Orr answered with couple of his own. Both landed some shots.

Posted by Rang99 on January 15, 2008 at 10:32 AM

Don't know if Laraque connected in beginning-Orr landedd 2 at end.

Posted by NYR-Enforcers on January 15, 2008 at 06:38 PM

close fight but i give this one to orr, no real damaging shots landed by BGL but orr got in a couple of bombs, pretty good bout between these to heavyweights, hope to see more of this in the future. GO RANGERS + COLTON ORR

Posted by Plateworker on January 15, 2008 at 06:46 PM

BGL early Orr late....Draw

Posted by Muscles on January 19, 2008 at 04:37 PM

Orr got in a few at the end against a much stronger guy.

Posted by theknuckler on January 15, 2008 at 01:18 PM

Solid draw. No one caused any damage. Laraque landed early but didn't phase Orr, and Orr hit Laraque while laraque was going down clearly not a knockdown by any stretch. Solid draw.

Posted by yatyas on January 15, 2008 at 04:06 AM

I can't tell if the Orr punches landed. The Laraque punches landed, but to the top and side of Orr's head. Without another view I give this a solid draw, Laraque early and Orr late.

Posted by WildCard on January 17, 2008 at 03:42 PM

It was a draw because BGL got orr beat in the beginning and then eventhough Orr hits was at the shulder area you gotta give him credit for that nice turn he did that suprised BGL and because of that he got a takedown.

Posted by The Ripper on January 15, 2008 at 09:00 PM

Good bout by both. Laraque looked good early, Orr late. Laraque is not a good fighter but he knows how to win, which i gues would make him a good fighter. He never throws any HUGE punches that will knock anyone down, he uses his strengh to swing people around. He has amazing balance which lets him do so.

Posted by nycbob on January 15, 2008 at 10:07 AM

I'm not ready to give BGL the NHL crown. Takedowns should not be in the equation at all - they are on skates for christs sake. I have not seen BGL dominate brashear, mcgratton and he never meets up with the Wild. He's definately top 5. This a draw no one landed any real shots. One of these days Orr will tag BGL with a power shot, then we'll see who can take a punch.

Posted by Bigford83 on January 15, 2008 at 12:04 PM

JDForCommish & NJDCap make a good point. 'Raquey does a fair amount of grappling and hugging, but he doesn't do a lot of actual punching. I still think he's a solid heavyweight fighter but I would like to see him completely unleashed. I'd also like to see how he takes a hit. A bona fide slug-fest (i.e. no hugging) between him and another good HW (Brash, Boogs, Grats, et al) would be something to watch!

Posted by Sam1410 on February 14, 2008 at 08:22 PM

Even fight - draw. Early to BGL and late to Orr. It looked like most of BGL's punches were to the back of the head and Orr's two at the end were on the money. Props to Georges for ragdolling at the beginning - man is he strong.

Posted by 5forfighting on January 15, 2008 at 08:02 PM

The voting on this site never ceases to amaze me. How anyone can call this a win for Laraque or Orr is beyond me.

Posted by jon1988 on January 19, 2008 at 01:04 AM

close fight... laraque had the start but orr finished strong... not bad

Posted by Nightmare on February 08, 2008 at 02:28 PM

All Laraque early with that left of his...good job by Orr of evading any real damage...Orr comes on aggresively and Laraque loses his balance. Gotta give it a draw considering no real damage was done and both men were willing and able at the time of the fights premature stop.

Posted by hkhk on January 15, 2008 at 04:14 PM

good scrap bgl wanted to dance and orr answered it bgl had him early but orr came back ...nice fight

Posted by Montel8000 on January 15, 2008 at 07:10 PM

Draw both landed to many punches to count!!

Posted by suckerpunch on January 15, 2008 at 12:17 PM

I love you rags fans. We all have seen the video in slo mo. Orrs two rights hit body at best. Please think before you post.

Posted by blazers76 on January 15, 2008 at 12:33 PM

Win Laraque. Orr shots at the end would have only knocked down a grandmother(or maybe mikebflorida lol). Now that being said, I think that BGL has a terrible fighting style. His " spin and throw" technique basically doesn't allow his opponent to do anything unless he is strong enough to hold on. If his dance partner does happen to be strong enough, big George usually goes for the stupid take down. If the spin doesn't work and the other guy is able to start chuckin' it seems like that 260 lbs frame falls to the ice. The only thing about big George, I can't remember him ever being knocked silly by a punch.

Posted by Juha82 on January 15, 2008 at 04:47 PM

Not a bad fight though. Laraque lost his balance. Edge Laraque because landed few nice punches.

Posted by itsthizzbaby on January 15, 2008 at 11:23 PM

Uhh it's pretty obvious Laraque was off balance, I think YOU need to watch it again. Orr will kick most peoples ass, but not Laraque.. and not in this fight.

Posted by madcar25 on January 15, 2008 at 02:41 PM

bgl won this fight. orr gets some points for hitting him in the shoulder.

Posted by jRooTes9 on January 16, 2008 at 12:02 AM

ill give this to laraque. the only hits that orr had were when laraque was going down.

Posted by JayMiller29 on January 16, 2008 at 07:32 AM

Slight edge for Big Georges. Lots of Ranger fans voting with their hearts and not their heads....I like Colton Orr, he's great, but he did not win this fight. At best its a draw.

Posted by NJDcaptain04 on January 15, 2008 at 11:03 AM

I hate the rangers, but props to Orr for going with BGL and a decent showing. I'm not sure, but has BGL, in the last couple of yrs or so, ever stood toe to toe with a legit heavy, who he wasn't dominating? Someone like McGrattan or the Boogeyman, etc? Seems like everytime BGL fights, it's either a hugfest or he gets his shots in and then a take down, if the opponent starts to get going. I know he's the un-official heavyweight champ, but it seems like he hasn't actually FOUGHT, in the last couple yrs. And yeah, this is a knock on BGL.

Posted by FyrKyllr on January 19, 2008 at 10:31 PM

DMM, what were you watching? Orr's "two punches" came as Laraque was already falling. Not the best from these 2 but Laraque with the win.

Posted by paddyd on January 15, 2008 at 02:23 PM

50% of the votes can be thrown out because they are homers or no clue votes. The slightest edge goes to BGL.

Posted by 2001GT on January 16, 2008 at 11:21 AM

Colton didnt land one shot the whole bout!! Are you guys insane. If you think winning a fight means you can can take 7 shot to the head and not give one but you get the edge with the takedown, your nuts. Colton was brave, I give him credit. Edge to BGL, any thing else is just stupid

Posted by legion31 on January 15, 2008 at 05:53 PM

i'm not a rags or a pens fan........laraque win !!! let's go habs !!

Posted by Gunslinger on January 16, 2008 at 08:00 PM

Lapebble early, Orr late. I give it a draw and yeah, I am biased. What would you expect from a Brash guy?

Posted by JOCCOCHRIS on January 17, 2008 at 12:22 AM

they both landed one decent punch each--draw

Posted by DARCY T on January 15, 2008 at 11:48 AM

it seems like laraque thought its over but orr didnt stay down.i call it draw

Posted by Bigsnapple7 on January 15, 2008 at 10:29 AM

Neither fighter landed anything.

Posted by Poop Jack Pappy on January 15, 2008 at 06:41 PM

Very good scrap. Laraque landed some good blows at the beginning and Orr at the end. Draw

Posted by bigpucks on January 15, 2008 at 04:39 AM

The Rock did not put Orr away and he should have. Orr bounced back from his beating in their last fight. The next one should be great,

Posted by redwingrocket on January 19, 2008 at 12:19 PM

too much huggin.

Posted by Hockeycrazed72 on January 16, 2008 at 08:52 AM

ill give it a draw, some will argue but laraque lost his balance, he really bad at sometimes.

Posted by dbakes on January 17, 2008 at 10:00 AM

Orr dropped Laraque. Decision, Orr.

Posted by Boogeyman2383 on January 15, 2009 at 09:38 PM

Slightest edge to Orr

Posted by BostonBruins19 on January 15, 2008 at 02:31 PM

How do you give this fight to Laraque? He landed a few in the beginning, but nothing heavy enough to stop Orr. Then, Orr came back and landed a few and Laraque bailed out like he usually does when punches are thrown his way. Plus, I can never give Laraque a win after his participation in the Chara vs. Laraque embarrassment.

Posted by robert13 on January 15, 2008 at 02:36 PM

Orr win

Posted by berlzbro on January 15, 2008 at 04:04 PM

Its not who lands the most punches, its who is standing over who at the end of the fight. Two solids by Orr. George doesn't lose to often, but he lost this one.

Posted by kingpintoo on January 15, 2008 at 12:02 AM

Orr got the take down and last punches and against Geroges that's a winner!

Posted by Goon24 on January 15, 2008 at 07:22 PM

Orr with the win

Posted by Rocky2000 on January 16, 2008 at 04:17 PM

Big George looked really good in the beginning but was dropped by Orr late. BIG Victory for Colton Orr !!!

Posted by napanee warrior on January 15, 2008 at 11:07 AM

nice tilt

Posted by DeathBruzer on October 13, 2008 at 03:46 PM

Laraque started out good, but Orr won the bout in the end.

Posted by biglite351 on January 25, 2008 at 07:34 AM

Draw. It had potential but then they just started to spin.

Posted by halvor on January 16, 2008 at 12:45 AM

Always a good fight when these two guys square off. Thought Laraque was going to take him out at first, but Orr came back nicely with some good moves and punches of his own and didn't cave in. Draw.

Posted by brawler03 on January 15, 2008 at 11:09 AM

Kinda silences all the people who say BGL is a wrestler. That was a good tilt between two heavyweights. Wide open fight... couldn't tell if those punches at the beginning by Georges did anything. Draw.

Posted by Wolf_eyes on January 15, 2008 at 06:35 PM

Two hits were landed. One by Georgie, and one by Orr. That makes it a draw. Bonus point for L. for rag-dolling Orr, but not enough to really 'win'.

Posted by bam932 on January 14, 2008 at 11:52 PM

Laraque early, Orr late = Draw. Most entertaining fight BGL has had all year.

Posted by therockbottom on January 15, 2008 at 01:00 PM

laraque win. laraque dominated the whole fight until he tripped and orr landed his only punch on BGL's helmet while he was down. easy win.

Posted by Batman2124 on January 19, 2008 at 04:04 PM

Laraque lost his footing at the end but besides that he dominated orr just like in every other fight

Posted by bigdog2007 on January 15, 2008 at 10:18 PM

Orr has to hit Laraque after he falls. Only shot he has. Why does Orr bother fighting heavyweights? McGratton, Brashear, Laraque etc all cave his face in.

Posted by gopuckyourself on January 15, 2008 at 11:49 PM

Laraque's right uppercut through the sweater might have been the best shot. Very close. Edge Laraque.

Posted by Krahn on January 15, 2008 at 05:00 PM

ARE YOU KIDDIN!!! ORR! He got dominated, big whoop he took him down, you guys are retarded!

Posted by Kovac on January 16, 2008 at 03:05 AM

hahaha clean rights...to the shoulder? not even close, george by a long shot

Posted by CocoQuaker7 on January 15, 2008 at 07:35 PM

BGL wins this without a doubt.

Posted by Dijo on January 15, 2008 at 07:41 PM

LARAQUE won this fight. Also, Orr landed a punch when Laraque was down. That's interesting considering all the whining Orr fans did when Belak started throwing punches at him in their last fight before he was ready (while he was daydreaming I guess).

Posted by pens4life2 on January 16, 2008 at 03:51 AM

How can you say Orr won that fight? The only punch he really connected on was when Laraque was already falling to the ice.

Posted by dogace on January 15, 2008 at 10:26 AM

big g wins again! orr had no clue what he was doing.did you see his smile on his way to the penalty box..like he was just happy to survive that fight!(and orr is a good fighter, but big g made him look average)

Posted by kocurfan26 on January 16, 2008 at 10:00 PM

win for Orr. Laraque did not land one clean punch. a couple of wild swings graze the back of Orr's helmet but thats it

Posted by widojofus on January 15, 2008 at 05:34 PM

orr knocked bgl down with a right, orr=winner

Posted by RMKB on January 15, 2009 at 09:30 PM

Posted by foiledup on March 01, 2008 at 12:05 PM

I dont know why everyone is giving Laraque this fight. Laraque started out great early but Orr finished him off with Great right hand. KO Orr

Posted by Rangers4thecup on December 17, 2008 at 03:56 AM

Orr rocked laraque

Posted by sandfrog on January 15, 2008 at 06:44 PM

A lot of helmet punches. Not that good of a scrap but better than nothing.

Posted by nyislesfan45 on January 15, 2008 at 02:33 AM

Guys this is a joke, people are voting for Orr?

Posted by dudelink on January 17, 2008 at 10:41 AM

Close but edge goes to George. He uses his strength to get other fighters off balance better then any fighter i've ever seen

Posted by peachfuzz on January 15, 2008 at 09:30 PM

Look at the fight in slow motion. Orr never lands a punch, and Laraque trips over Orr's skate at the end. In the 3rd period, Orr's right eye is swelling up. Laraque gets my vote.

Posted by unchockey21 on January 16, 2008 at 04:15 PM

I don't see where you people get that Orr landed 2 "clean" bombs at the end and dropped him. Laraque is falling backwards and Orr hits him in the shoulder and grazes his helmet.

Posted by jbaker3924 on January 16, 2008 at 09:38 AM

BGL was busier and won. Orr got one in as BGL slipped.

Posted by mikeuhf on January 15, 2008 at 04:47 PM

Laraque physically dominated the fight, but didn't land any tremendous punches. Losing his balance at the end gave Orr a could shots and allowed him to end up on top. Orr didn't do much, except avoid getting beaten badly when Laraque had him off-balance.

Posted by droppthegloves on January 15, 2008 at 11:08 AM

BGL rocked Orr early. Did enough to get the win...

Posted by JLCrazy80 on January 15, 2008 at 01:43 PM

colton orr got the take down, but his punch landed in laraques armpit. i will have to say laraque has the edge in this fight.

Posted by preds321 on January 15, 2008 at 04:27 PM

I am not a Rangers fan and not particularly a Colton Orr fan, but that guy really does not shy away from anyone. He's pretty gutsy

Posted by Zag36 on January 15, 2008 at 11:30 AM

Slight edge to Laraque

Posted by Slipshod on January 15, 2008 at 01:03 PM

Laraque wins. He controlled the fight. Orr had nothing but desperation flails at the end.

Posted by RR20 on January 15, 2008 at 03:31 PM

laraque gave it to him in the beginning with a couple of shots to the back of the head but no real big bombs. orr sort of got a shot in at the end but he pretty much hit his arm and the side of the helmet. typical laraque to swing someone around i hate both these guys.

Posted by NedBraden24 on January 18, 2008 at 06:19 PM

Orr got lucky catchin the big guy off balance. Will George ever stand and go toe-to-toe? Am I the only one?

Posted by hogguy2000 on January 15, 2008 at 10:29 AM

Almost a draw.....Laraque winner

Posted by ILoveMarijuana7 on January 15, 2008 at 09:10 PM

laraque landed a few good ones and only got hit as he was slipping and started to fall. gotta give it to big georges

Posted by rtisby2 on January 15, 2008 at 04:44 PM

Laraque got more punches in. He came out strong and swinging and Orr was just hanging on. At the end though Orr got a couple of rights in there but Laraque seemed to have the upper hand

Posted by HUSCROFT8 on January 15, 2008 at 08:16 PM

Nice punch to the armpit Orr!!! Win goes to G.L. come on the two punches at the end were punches thrown from a desperate man!!!! Orr didnt land nothin!!

Posted by Bleak5170 on January 15, 2008 at 02:09 PM

Orr came back a bit at the end but it was all Laraque before that. Decision: Laraque

Posted by slicksta on January 15, 2008 at 09:56 PM

big george was pounding him and orr got a couple body shots in, don't know how some of ya figure orr dropped laraque with those. maybe some of you guys need to get some eye glasses

Posted by Sukoshi84 on January 15, 2008 at 02:58 PM

Win big Georgie, whoever voted win for orr needs to pull the head outta the Ass.........Orr's shots didnt put Georgie down one hit his shoulder and the other barely grazed him, ive hated BGL since he left Edmonton but you gotta be a realist on this site

Posted by JoshF on January 17, 2008 at 05:41 PM

As usual big george whooped up on a bitch.

Posted by jmc136 on January 16, 2008 at 06:20 PM

Laraque was pounding his head. I don't award wins for takedowns, Win Laraque.

Posted by Tviper35 on January 15, 2008 at 03:02 AM

Laraque wins... orr was swinging at air

Posted by steelcitysports on January 15, 2008 at 03:38 PM

ORR only landed two arm shots. BGL went down because he lost balance. BGL landed 9 shots to ORR's head. BGL is still the undisputed heavyweight champion of NHL. Oh yeah penguins won 4-1 so much for momentum swing for lowly rangers.

Posted by Blade88 on January 22, 2008 at 08:01 PM

BGL easy. Orr didn't hit him until BGL lost his balance.

Posted by islandersfan39 on February 20, 2008 at 12:08 PM

laraque iz da man but good lookz ta orr for fropping them wid da heavyweight

Posted by kfourni on April 26, 2009 at 01:56 AM

Close but BGL takes it again...at least Orr wasn't dominated this time by BGL

Posted by pvdrummer2000 on February 09, 2013 at 12:04 AM

Big Georges dominated the fight and just slipped at the end.

Posted by Clark75 on January 17, 2008 at 12:41 PM

Laraque gets the win here. Landed more punches. He clearly slips at the end. I don't think Orr landed a single shot. I bet Orr pumped his fists in the air claiming the victory. Go do the Bachelor buddy!

Posted by nypd6476 on January 17, 2008 at 12:11 AM

Come on guy (DMM). Typical Ranger fan. Not even close Laraque dominated and destroyed this fight. Orr is like Andy Sutton on the Islanders and big P***Y. His puches are like feathers and I am a diehard Islander fan. Orr and Hollweg are the same personm to big P***ies.

Posted by TheHammer24 on January 15, 2008 at 03:04 PM

Orr did land two...to Laraque's shoulder. The only thing worse than homerism, are those who find every reason to say BGL lost a fight. Come on guys.

Posted by dropkick25 on January 15, 2008 at 11:06 PM

Good scrap,BGL threw more, many to the neck/back of orrs head, then two in the mush,Orr came back with what looked like to short hard rights but hard to tell if they landed clean from the camera angle, the homer in me says they did, slight edge to BGL,good job by Orr hanging in and finishing honorably.

Posted by mjb_17 on January 15, 2008 at 12:32 PM

DMM...maybe you need to have a closer look. Orrs last 2 punches hit BGL in the shoulder pad and then grazed his helmet....no take down punches here! Good fight and Orr hung on, but win goes to BGL!!!! no question!

Posted by jasmine6979 on January 16, 2008 at 09:44 AM

i agree with yru blind the voting on this site is a joke!!

Posted by Rebel Banker on January 15, 2008 at 07:17 PM

WIN LARAQUE!!! you either have to be a rags fan or a moron to think orr won...laraques pummels him early then loses his balance...orr hits him w/ 2 body shots will he is fallig down...really not that close

Posted by jbart321 on January 15, 2008 at 07:42 PM

DMM, what fight were you watching? Orr barely landed anything and Laraque fell, he wasn't knocked down. Orr lost, give it up. I'd be ashamed if Orr was my teams fighter.

Posted by Sublimezx on January 16, 2008 at 02:47 PM

I cant believe George actually threw punches! Im shocked! He just be feeling sick! Either that or he knew he could whoop Orr....and Orr had a little comeback! Not bad

Posted by Joe Mack on January 15, 2008 at 04:43 PM

When i saw the game i missed the first half of the fight and i was astonished that Orr had taken down BGL. It wasn't until the replay that i saw what actually happened... Orr gets all the credit in the world for dropping the gloves againt Laraque. Especially after what happened the last time these two went at it. I'm giving the slight edge to Georges for treating Colton like a rag doll through the first half of the fight, but Orr gets big props for faring so well against the champ, and ending with a take down. It was tough watching this in a bar that Colton Orr is known to frequent while i was proudly wearing my Penguins jersey.

Posted by merle johnson on January 15, 2008 at 11:27 AM

win larouqe,he dominated early,But a good finish for Orr,nice solid shot at the end,but he ate to many early on..Still not crazy about Larouqes style,I'd like to see how he'd do if he stood in, and just traded with someone.....

Posted by powerball on January 15, 2008 at 11:20 PM

laraque started well, orr got in 2 decent shot. a draw. nine times out of 10 laraque kicks orrs ass

Posted by battleship bob on January 15, 2008 at 02:48 PM

Props to Orr for hanging in there, and in getting a shot on BGL when he was down, but in no way does this constitute a win. BGL had more punches thrown, more punches landed, clearly the aggressor in the fight = win.

Posted by CosmA on January 16, 2008 at 07:16 PM

give it to laraque... we all know he can't skate, and orr's last two didn't really land from my point of view.

Posted by MeLikeSemenko on January 15, 2008 at 01:47 PM

anyone who thinks Orr's 2 shots to the shoulder give a win are lost in space......BGL dominated

Posted by Xeshybrid on January 15, 2008 at 03:30 PM

For all you that say Orr connected with his few last punches, you need to watch that video again. The first punch orr threw hit laraque just under the armpit. Second punch was flailed while they were both falling, third punch while they were on the ground hit BGL in the armpit again. If anyone considers those "to the jaw" are morons. Watch again all you orr fans, watch him get spanked and miss every punch he throws. And still the heavyweight champ of the NHL GEEEEOOORRGE LARRRRRRAAAAQUE.

Posted by CujoSmith on January 15, 2008 at 01:00 AM

Laraque is the best fighter in the leauge and i want him to join the UFC and cick every big mouths ass on the ufc roster

Posted by breakfastsmile on January 15, 2008 at 08:24 PM

BGL won this one, but hand it to Orr for not backing down.

Posted by dr00r00 on January 15, 2008 at 08:31 PM

You're a homer if you thought Orr won that fight. All BGL baby! 6-0, surprising to me because I thought Orr was a better fighter than that. This is a good example of being a tough guy in the East as opposed to the West. Meaning, Orr should be grateful he landed with an Eastern Conference team because he wouldn't last in the West.

Posted by bluesrule08 on January 15, 2008 at 11:58 AM

good fight...i gave it to laraque but not by much

Posted by Boom Boom Belak on January 15, 2008 at 07:20 PM

I'm going Laraque on this one.... I watched this just to see these 2 and I missed the very beginning to my disappointment. Orr did definetly lay on him at the end,,, Laraque still hammered on him.....good close one from 2 of the best....I will say though if Orr didn't get those last 2 in he would have been completly out

Posted by scballersc on May 31, 2008 at 01:47 AM

BGL wins outright again. Slip at the end and biased garbage announcing explain why the vote is closer than the actual fight.

Posted by R_Wick33 on January 15, 2008 at 09:32 PM

idk how u can clearly call a winner nobody dominated to all the homers. it is pretty weak both land punches but no damage done laraque seemed pretty lucky to fall down when he did when orr seemed to get his footing but i would have to call a draw

Posted by charger on January 15, 2008 at 10:12 PM

Those who say that Orr won, baffle me. Orr didn't get in one hit. After Laraque destroyed him with lefts, he lost his balance and when down. At that moment, Orr through a punch that landed on Laraque's chest or didn't land at all, then after Laraque was totally down, Orr threw another punch that glanced off of Laraque's shoulder. For those who say that Orr won or that it was a draw, please show us all of Orr's landed punches or at least show us just one of them. Landslide Victory for Laraque!

Posted by TOOTOO_FAN on January 15, 2008 at 03:05 PM

ok fight i have seen better! laraque wanted a fight and got one

Posted by norrek on January 16, 2008 at 04:35 PM

very close but no way in the world that Laraque won this fight, slight edge to Orr or draw

Posted by anglestad on January 15, 2008 at 01:03 PM

edge to Orr

Posted by pogo619 on January 15, 2008 at 07:35 PM

Orr won this one. He smacked BGL good at the end. Most of what BGL threw early missed by a mile. That is typical of Big Laraque. I'd like everyone to watch Laraques fights closely. He rarely wins by fighting. He wins by leaning on the opponent to get him down. Wow!!!! I'll take Brashear over him any day. Or Parros, Peters, or Voros, or Stortini, those guys know how to fight....

Posted by dromano13 on January 16, 2008 at 06:54 PM

BGL got dropped! Definately ORR!

Posted by billy jack on January 15, 2008 at 12:11 AM

goerge early, what ever orr hit him with put goerge to the ice, what ever goerge hit orr with never dropped him,it sems big goerge can throw them but cant take them,he goes down every time momentum swings away from him.the last fights of goerge have been that way.if he loses the edge his 280 ppound steroid built body has,he goes down, thats my 2 cents.

Posted by CLARKvMcSORLEY on January 15, 2008 at 03:08 PM

Tiny #28 for the rangers taking on the reiging champ, and . . .is this deja vu all over again??? Im guessing Colton Orr was a Tie Domi fan when he was young. People who count punches and then vote for winners dont understand the point of the hockey fight- its to get momentum for your team, if your player is taking a beating and turns around and puts the champ on his ass, your going to get a boost. Ergo Orr wins.

Posted by mAnYsTyLeS on January 16, 2008 at 11:19 AM

Orr gets the win only because BGL is a silverback gorilla and anyone who fights him has balls of steel. Cheers. Rangers own you suckas!

Posted by JABUSHFSU on January 16, 2008 at 04:40 PM

orr won the fight, larague missed 15 punches. orr did get lucky. any other time larague would have smashed him out.....

Posted by descof on January 15, 2008 at 02:17 PM

2 devasting rigth hand on the jaw of laracque did the job

Posted by snaggletooth on January 15, 2008 at 08:50 PM

Orr won this fight.BGL started strong but ended up on his face.

Posted by canuk on January 15, 2008 at 07:13 PM

Since this is about as close as Orr will get to beating this guy I will give the edge to Orr.

Posted by Christian_LaBoy on January 17, 2008 at 07:09 AM

The Rock says Orr...

Posted by Sonordrummer on January 15, 2008 at 11:25 PM

Laraque threw a bunch of punches that missed I give this one to Orr.

Posted by jlmcgui on October 27, 2009 at 11:10 PM

Andy Brickley nailed it; BGL early, Orr late ... I like Orr's!!!

Posted by mbaumann on January 15, 2008 at 05:00 PM

Orr clearly won, George did not land any punches. How can you say Orr lost. Penguins suck!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by dayne33 on January 15, 2008 at 04:38 PM

I dont see how anybody can say the fight went either way. BGL might have landed one but Orr might have landed one also. Draw, unless you have an expalnation

Posted by STEVEO74 on January 15, 2008 at 12:01 AM

another win for big georges. Props to Orr for droppin the mitts with him again.

Posted by MakaveliTrained on January 15, 2008 at 10:56 AM

Laraque dominated (as he did the last fight) those left hands are brutal! i guess the 20% are ranger-faggs

Posted by renaudh on January 15, 2008 at 02:25 AM

not so exciting... a draw

Posted by beter06 on January 15, 2008 at 11:44 AM

JUST BECAUSE YOU GET THROWN TO THE ICE DOESNT MEAN YOU LOST..WINNING A FIGHT INVOLVES LANDING PUNCHES: ORRS NEED TO WORK ON HIS AIM(TO THE LOVES GONNA ROCK YOU SONG) "GEORGES GONNA ROCK YOU...REALLY SOCK YOU...DROP THE GLOVES LARAQUE" Go pens!

Posted by sirensong on January 14, 2008 at 11:21 PM

BGL gets the win, landed the only meaningfull shots. Takedowns dont give you a win. Orr got slapped around.

Posted by tred on January 14, 2008 at 11:33 PM

Probie83, just to bring you back to reality, the fight was on the ice, where the players wear skates. Win Laraque.

Posted by djaye on January 15, 2008 at 02:03 AM

Slo-mo. Orr never connected, had the falling take-down of sorts. Win BGL.

Posted by jd99gtNYR on January 15, 2008 at 01:59 AM

Already put a description in the threads/ But I will say that the vote here is ridiculous. Everyone on this site sucks BGL's dick.. I gave the edge to Orr... Fine I'll say draw........ You all suck

Posted by johnnystudly on January 14, 2008 at 11:40 PM

I hate it when guys hit after linesmen jump in and other fighter is down. They should have let it continue if punches are still being thrown. A mad Laraque would have been bad for Orr. I'd definitely thing Orr is going to get an angry Laraque next time and that is bad news for Orr. Laraque is known as a nice, fair and clean fighter unless it gets personal. Can't wait but Orr did hung in there, kinda .

Posted by IrishBrawler on January 15, 2008 at 10:55 AM

Orr did a nice job hammering away at Laraque. Always thought of Laraque as a poor mans Donald Brashear . I hate Brashear to this day for the acting job he did when Marty McSorley love tapped him on the side of the helmet with his stick years ago. Brashear was smiling the entire time on the ice biting his lip to keep from laughing. What a wuss.

Posted by rmoretton on January 15, 2008 at 03:27 PM

Georges is "KING of the ring"! Not even close.

Posted by cabsf15e on January 15, 2008 at 12:54 AM

Good fight which I give a slight edge to BGL. BGL controlled the fight as Orr was spinning about, however, Orr landed a good shot that did connect BGL's cake-hole just prior to him hitting the ice. No one dislikes the Blue-shirt boys from the Big Apple anymore than I, however, Colton Orr is a very, very tough human being...I wish he was still a Bruin!!

Posted by probie83 on January 14, 2008 at 11:24 PM

I say Orr because if this were a real fight and not on skates once you get takedn down like that your ass is through.

Posted by vrodack on January 15, 2008 at 03:56 AM

I dont know who vote for Orr as a winner but too me BLG is the winner of this one.

Posted by Oilersfan74 on January 14, 2008 at 11:03 PM

BGL with the win.

Posted by Enfrcr77 on January 15, 2008 at 04:26 PM

another win for BGL... he will beat him everytime

Posted by SirYohans on March 08, 2008 at 11:02 AM

You know for a guy that everyone calls the "So-Called-Champ," you see the same thing from him very often, He fires those lefts non-stop or gets 'em spinning. (But here he doesn't hit much flesh.) Then when he knows what's coming, he bails out by throwing himself to the ice and using his gorilla strength to pull the other guy down. I thought i've mentioned my problem with BGL before. Anyway, i saw Orr land the best punch of the fight. AND FOR THOSE WHO SAY ORR WAS DIRTY FOR SWINGING WHILE BGL WAS FALLING, WHAT'S HE SUPPOSED TO DO, FREEZE A PUNCH IN MID AIR THAT HE ALREADY STARTED THROWING? i'm glad he did that. He sould've kept punching. It's the only chance u might get. "So-Called-Champ" ...more like "So-Called-Chicken"

Posted by deanwormer on January 14, 2008 at 11:24 PM

Domination by BGL. Orr out of control nearly the entire fight. Two late punches to the helmet or shoulder knocks BGL off balance to end.

Posted by JDForCommish on January 14, 2008 at 11:26 PM

Ranger fan here but that one goes to Laraque because of the early shots to the helmet. Orr tried to grab Laraques left hand early and missed and caught 4 solid lefts because of it. nice recovery though by Orr and landed a nice right as Laraque was falling to the ground. It seems like Laraque (who has great balance) likes to fall to the ground or tackle his opponent when they get the upper hand. no damage to either fighter though as neither had a mark on their face. good aggressive fight by both. BGL still the champ, and Orr proves again he will take anybody's punch to land one of his own.

Posted by Bootes on January 15, 2008 at 10:05 AM

I don't see how anyone could vote Orr?? Clear decision GL. Not even a draw. CO was RAGDOLLED and off balance the entire fight. It wasn't Orr ragdolling BGL was it? Did I miss something or no one votes seriously on this site?

Posted by PastorJ on January 15, 2008 at 11:42 AM

Gotta give BGL the edge in this one. He landed more and more solid punches. I agree with the announcer that Colton Orr proved he can take a punch. He'd better get used to it...

Posted by YRU Blind on January 15, 2008 at 08:33 PM

HEY! DUMBASS's If you voted for Orr, your a blind dip shit!!! Watch the dam fight. 7 lefts before Orr lands ONE punch. Laraque loses his balance and takes one to the chest on the way down. This is exactly why the world is so screwed up, people see and hear what they want to hear. Pull your head out of your ASS, and watch the fight again. I don't like Laraque but this voting is a joke!

Posted by Jake98 on January 15, 2008 at 04:13 AM

Laraque with easy win. Orr was just a rag doll

Posted by The DZA on January 15, 2008 at 12:15 AM

Orr got manhandled early and landed only 1 shot why BGL was off balanced. Win BGL, hands down. Ranger fans please face reality

Posted by penguinsfan123 on January 15, 2008 at 01:24 PM

the more i watch it the more my homerism sets in but orr doesnt really land anything and i watched it like 6 times

Posted by Super Mario 66 on January 15, 2008 at 03:54 PM

Laraque landed the only punches. He keeps beating all of the heavy's and still gets criticized for some reason.

Posted by BStreetBullies on January 15, 2008 at 11:03 AM

BGL controlled the whole fight, Orr may have landed a sneaky right at the end, but all in all Wing BGL.

Posted by NyjerMorgan on January 14, 2008 at 10:59 PM

BGL the aggressor, threw the power shots.

Posted by laraque-iz-bad on January 15, 2008 at 03:07 AM

Ummm....Orr won? Who the fuck voted for Orr? BGL landed quite a few punches while Orr was gettin RAGDOLLED! All Orr did was land one punch while BGL was fallin. Ask Orr if he one that fight. I'd bet he'd so no. Get a clue when you vote!!

Posted by pj80 on January 15, 2008 at 02:24 AM

oh man Laraque sucks! worst fighter i the nhl, champ? no i donĀ“t think so. he is more like an greek roman wrestler.

Posted by pitslam on January 15, 2008 at 10:51 AM

Laraque did well but Orr gets the win. Once again it shows big George dont like to get hit. Please you all are saying he was falling that is his pu??y tactic not to get hit if he cant body slam you he will dive/fall. UFC hell WWF for GL. UFC requires taking a punch. That pu??y couldn't take a punch from my six year old daughter. Spinning someone is not fighting. Go out to the school yard and see what spinning does for you.
