The way I remember it, Andy Moog skated calmly down the ice and back-handed Belfour's mask off of his face. This was by far the best fight I've ever seen at a hockey game I attended. By the time it was over, Shane Churla was naked from the waist up, and they handed out 42 minutes in penalties and 4 game misconducts. Oh, and half the fans had already left because the game was "over" (as in, the final outcome had already been decided). Stupid, stupid. Never leave a hockey game!

Denibear is correct, Belfour left the crease and grabbed on to a Stars player, and Moog skated the 200 feet and whooped Belfour.

The whole thing started when Dean Evason skated behind the net and took Belfour off of his skates with a blatant trip. Smith took exception and went after Churla. Moog skated to the fight when Belfour left his crease to be a third man in. Chelios was trying to jump in the fight as well, but Hatcher was holding him out. Chelios made the horrible mistake of trying Hatcher on for size. Hatcher destroyed him, Churla killed Smith, then the refs issued 60 minutes in penalties. It's still the best thing I've ever seen at a hockey game.

I was at the game down on the two-attack end. The fight was right in front of me. Smith grabbed Churla. This was before the jersey tie downs and Churla ripped his jersey off and went to town on Steve Smith. It happened right in front of the goal so Moog got mixed up in the Fracas, so the Eagle skated down and engaged him. It was great!
