Will Andy Sutton Be the Next Shanaban?

Will Andy Sutton Be the Next Shanaban?

Andy Sutton caught Gabriel Landeskog's head with his shoulder before Shane O'Brien went skating over to challange Sutton to a bout. The fight wasn't much to write about, but the hit is an interesting one.

Sutton is a for-real 6'6″. Landeskog looks like he's being liberally listed at 6'1″. Landeskog was also beant over a bit while skating, meaning Sutton's either going to hit Landeskog's head, or he needs to avoid Landeskog completely.

More than any of the other suspensions, this could set the tone for the season. Incidental contact might be overlooked, or you must avoid possible head contact at all costs. And, if you're Zdeno Chara, learn to skate on your knees.

Update 410pm: Andy Sutton Suspended Pending Hearing

Thursday action

Mike Brown had an impressive fight versus Kris Newbury. Brown's come out with a different style tihs year, and it's been working for him (and turning him into a fan favorite).

P.K. Subban and Brad Marchand had a mess of a fight that same night. It seemed nothing was going to get in the way of them going at it. After coincidental holding penalties the two went after each other out of the box only to pick up coincidental delay of game penalties. They were let loose again, and finally dropped the mitts and swung wildly at one another.
