Western Matinee

Only one fight last night.

After an unsuccessful attempt to get Steve Ott to oblige due to an upcoming Phoenix penalty, Nick Boynton dropped the gloves with Dallas’ Brad Winchester in a decent scrap.

Nine games are on tap for this evening with interesting matchups all-around.

Roy Unleashed

After being benched for three games because of a rumored blow-up with head coach John Tortorella, Lightning enforcer Andre Roy is expected to be back in the lineup for tonight’s game against Montreal.

No word on whether or not two potential dance partners for Roy, Ryan O’Byrne and Tom Kostopoulos, will be dressing for the Habs after being arrested early Monday morning for stealing a women’s purse and resisting arrest respectively. What’s up rookie dinner night…

Boulerice Almost Free

With a limited number of recent injuries, the Flyers have been able to knock some games off of Jesse Boulerice‘s monster suspension from earlier this year. So much so, that Boulerice now only has one game left to serve if my calculations are correct.

According to the AHL’s transactions page, Boulerice has been up with the big club since Sunday’s game against Pittsburgh. If Boulerice stays up for tonight’s game against the Islanders, he will be a free man.
