Weekend Recap: Rangers, Oilers Brawl

A busy weekend around the league saw a total of 16 fights, including a brawl between the Oilers and Rangers. Following a pair of anticipated bouts between Steve MacIntyre and Derek Boogaard, a quick tussle between Ladislav Smid and Sean Avery saw Avery deck Smid with a single punch.

Words were exchanged during Avery's journey to the dressing room and a melee ensued. Zack Stortini and Brandon Prust danced at center ice and Theo Peckham came off the bench to take on Brian Boyle.

Other notable scraps from the weekend included an absolute slugfest between Eric Boulton and John Erskine as well as a surprisingly one-sided affair involving Cam Janssen and Paul Bissonnette.
