Weekend Recap

The weekend started off with the Washington Capitals and Toronto Maple Leafs having a couple of good fights during a tight game Friday night. Capitals rookie Tom Wilson squared off with Carter Ashton in a very entertaining, free swinging bout. On the ensuing face off, it was time for the heavyweights to dance as Colton Orr and John Erskine dropped the gloves. Both guys exchanged nasty bombs before Erskine caught his Leaf counterpart flush on the jaw and put Orr to his back.

On Saturday night the Nashville Predators' Eric Nystrom and Ottawa Senators' Colin Greening completely disregarded defense and swung away in an entertaining bout. Each player landed some mammoth right hands before Nystrom decided Greening needed some lefts and clubbed away with the southpaw fist. The incredible action was well received by the Nashville faithful, prompting Nystrom to ask for more as he got off the ice.
