Things Get Testy in Anaheim

The majority of Monday night’s action took place in Southern California, where the Sabres and Ducks tangled in an inter-conference matchup that got interesting early. After taking an extra whack at Patrick Lalime, Corey Perry was grabbed by Craig Rivet, who dropped the gloves in the first of two fights for the veteran. Rivet’s second scrap occurred when Steve Montador flew into a scrum and challenged the veteran.

Both teams took their time leaving the ice at the end of the second period. Travis Moen and Paul Gaustad both received misconducts during the sequence. The game was capped off by a heavyweight bout between Andrew Peters and George Parros.

A short one between Mark Giordano and Ian Laperriere in Flames–Avalanche was the only other fight that took place last night. A decent bout between Shawn Thornton and Alex Henry in Bruins–Habs was Sunday’s lone scrap.
