The Tough Part of the 2011 Draft

The National Hockey League showed that fighting is still at the forefront of General Managers and scouts' minds with a series of players strong in the pugilism department selected in the 2011 entry Draft.
Perhaps most significant was that the 2010-11 Fighting Major leaders of the WHL, OHL and QMJHL were all selected.
Darren Kramer, who came into the league late as a 19-year-old, led the WHL with a remarkable 46 fighting majors and he was taken in the 6th round, 156th overall by the Ottawa Senators.
Derek Mathers made a rapid impression on the OHL in his debut season as a 17-year-old and quickly made a name for himself as one of the toughest players in the league in picking up 27 fighting majors. He was selected in the 7th round, 206th overall by the Philadelphia Flyers.
