Weber, a 6-foot-4 mountain of a man from the British Columbia interior, began growing his playoff beard weeks before the playoffs began. And now, with the defenceman set to lead the Nashville Predators into the Western Conference semi-final with the Vancouver Canucks Thursday night, both man and beard will appear on the biggest stage of either’s National Hockey League career.
