Shawn Thornton Would Like to Stay in Boston

“I want to stay here,” he said after yesterday’s morning skate ahead of the B’s 6-5 win agains the Lightning in Game 2.

“I’m going to have to work when I’m done,” he said, hinting that, as a blue-collar role player he doesn’t have millions socked away in his dresser drawer. “I’ll go where the jobs are, but I’m going for my green-card interview this summer, and hopefully I can stay around here.

“I love it here, the wife loves it here. We’ve set up shop here. We haven’t been back home since we signed here… So if I can stay, yeah, I’d love to stay.”
