Shawn Thornton on His Cup History

Shawn Thornton is one of only two current Bruins who won the Stanley Cup before this season.

That doesn’t make the thought of him getting his name etched on the NHL’s most coveted trophy any less special.

“It’s on there for 60 years,” Thornton, a Cup winner with the Anaheim Ducks in 2007, yesterday before the Bruins’ Rolling Rally. “It’ll be on the same band, obviously, for myself. It’ll be on there twice on one band. Sixty years, I’ll be dead before it comes off of that. So it’s a pretty special thing.”
