Ryan White Steps Up for Flyers

Center Ryan White had two fights this season entering Thursday’s games with the Blues…and just as many goals.

At 6-foot and 200 pounds, he’s no shrimp. He can drop the gloves when he has to, but also has the ability to put the puck in the net as he did Tuesday against the New York Islanders.

“It’s not talked about very much. We all know it’s changing and you don’t have that typical heavyweight guy on your fourth line anymore,” White said. “When I came into the league every team usually had one. Some nights we just want to get out there and do what we can to help the team win. It doesn’t matter if it’s chipping in offensively. We just want to make sure we’re having good minutes out there.”
