Rivals, Heavies, Open Up

There were only two fights last night, but they were two open, entertaining scraps with game-impact.

The first dust-up took place between the bitter New York rivals with Atlantic Division drifter, now New York RangerArron Asham and the New York IslandersEric Boulton dropping the gloves. It lasted 40 seconds and was a give-and-take, toe-to-toe battle. Islanders color man Butch Goring said the fight was a turning point for the Islanders play in the post-game report.

The second affair featured two big heavyweights exchanging colossal shots as the Toronto Maple LeafsColton Orr and Carolina HurricanesKevin Westgarth engaged in battle. The fight was less than three minutes into the game and the two had an all-out haymaker contest featuring heavy shots to the head and uncommon body shots.
