Red Wings Fight Again

The Detroit Red Wings, predictably last in fighting majors in the NHL, just fought in back-to-back games – the second time they've done that this season. Their six fights seem to have come in pairs, with only one game separating the first pair.
None of the fights have been highlights, but that's not really the point. They randomly spunk up, and their record is 5-1 when they have a fighting major (24-13-1 overall). The team that used to cruise with the Bob Probert and Joey Kocur has a very different identity now. It's very different than the Cup winning teams in the 90s, too. As the Western Central division (future “Conference B”, hopefully Norris) becomes more competitive, like it was in the 90s, it'll be interesting to see if the Wings' style changes.
Last night Mike Commodore fought B.J. Crombeen immediately following the Wings' second goal. Crombeen sent Commodore to the ice, but the Wings took the game, beating the Blue Jackets 3-0.
Friday night Todd Bertuzzi didn't like a hit from Daniel Carcillo and dropped the gloves with him. The entire game was a close, hard-hitting affair, looking like a game from the past between the two rivals. The Blackhawks pulled out the win in that one, 3-2.
