QMJHL Starts Up Hockey Season

After a summer that seemed to last forever, hockey finally made its return to North America this past weekend when the QMJHL opened its pre-season.
Highly-rated prospect Nathan MacKinnon, forever compared to fellow Cole Harbour native Sidney Crosby, wasted little time in making an impact on his Halifax Mooseheads debut as an explosive burst of speed helped create a goal for Martin Frk on his first shift. MacKinnon is the consensus #1 overall pick at this point in the 2013 NHL entry draft.
The youthful Quebec Remparts showed they are going to be exciting to watch this season as 1995-born prospects Anthony Duclair and Adam Erne both made an eye-catching first impression for Patrick Roy's club, who will also have the talents of highly ranked 2012 prospect Mikhail Grigorenko on their roster.
