On a Break

On a Break

It's not something I do often in-season, but I'm on a short break from the site. Work trips are work trips, and I'm lucky enough that part of mine involves CES and Las Vegas.

Almost everything here will run normally. The one big exception is the NHL logs & videos, which I will do shortly after my return. As long as everything goes to plan, most, if not all, will be added on Wednesday. Minors, juniors, and everything else are still going. If I can, I'll add some older NHL videos I already have made.

If you're jonesing for some action, here are some of our best-of pages:
NHL 2010-11
AHL 2010-11
NHL 2009-10
AHL 2009-10
Best Goalie Fights

Social, social

An easy way to know when everything's back to full action here is to follow hockeyfights.com on Facebook, Twitter or one of the RSS feeds.

Pawlenty's hockey fix

Something I've received a lot of emails and tweets about: Former Minnesota governor Tim Pawlenty has brought this site into the news by mentioning it in a new book.

"Occasionally, if I really need a good mental break and I can't get out on the ice for one of those old-timers' games, I'll sit at the computer when I'm home at night and pop over to hockeyfights.com to watch a few of the latest videos," Pawlenty writes in "Courage to Stand," which comes out Tuesday.

This was picked up by a few sources, including CBS News, although no one seems to be linking over.

This isn't the first time the potential presidential candidate has mentioned the site. In 2007 The Weekly Standard profiled Pawlenty and he mentioned starting each day here.
