No Intimidation, No Fighting
Days of dropping gloves could soon be over
One of the main reasons for allowing fighting is to protect star players by letting the players police themselves on the ice. But the number of concussions, head shots and blindside hits in today’s NHL suggests that fighting isn’t doing its job very well any more. The element of fear and intimidation of having to answer the bell after taking a run at a skilled player is gone.
