Laraque’s Status Unknown, a Jump for Wrecker (Updated)

Update 3/6 4:35 PM ET: CBC is reporting that Laraque will now be sidelined for a month due to a back injury.

Georges Laraque left last night’s Canadiens game against the Sabres after the second period.  Seen ailing today, Habs Inside Out wrote:

I called Big Georges to find out if his season was in jeopardy.  He said while he is in pain, he hasn’t seen a doctor yet for any diagnosis and is obviously hoping it’s not a season-ending injury.  He will see doctors when he returns to Montreal.

Wrecker steps into rivalry

After spending most of his season with the Utah Grizzlies of the ECHL, Joel Rechlicz played three games for the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the AHL and is now making the jump up to bigs with the Islanders and is expected to be in the lineup.

The Isles take on Rangers tonight, so it shouldn’t be too hard for Rechlicz to play his game.
