Joey Kocur Interview
Q&A — Joey Kocur, former Detroit Red Wings enforcer
Obviously, with all of those penalty minutes, people remember you for your fighting skills and your partnering with Bob Probert at “The Bruise Brothers.” Do you look back on that with some sort of satisfaction or would you prefer to be remembered for other things?
Let me say that if it weren’t for me and Bob Probert, I wouldn’t have got to be part of four Stanley Cup teams. We were together at the right time and we had a job to do and we did it. Because we did our job so well and because (coach Scotty) Bowman believed in us, we became better players. I enjoyed everything about my hockey career.
