The two teams titled New York renewed their rivalry yesterday in a Columbus Day/Thanksgiving matinee.  It was an entertaining game with a good fight, a little controversy, plenty of goals and a dramatic ending.

Zenon Konopka and Brandon Prust, the leaders in fighting majors last season, met up a little over 8 minutes into the first period.  They had a long, technical fight.  Odds are we’ll seen another one, or even a few, throughout this season.

More memorable will be James Wisniewski taunting Sean Avery.  The NHL is expected to make an announcement regarding the incident within the day.

The game was a fun one overall, with lead changing hands a few times and the Islanders scoring two power play goals late to win.

The Ducks and Blues game was pretty chippy and exploded for four fights.
